She did but no ticket as police don't deal with private property if a car accident.

I am guessing she was not sure if to go right or left, got befuddled, turned right too late, saw us and panicked, hit the gas hard.

OP is located in Toronto (according to his location). Everyone quoting figures from the US won't apply. Best way to find out is to ask your insurance company and find a quality body shop. If you have a relationship with the body shop, sometimes they can push for a car to be totaled if it's borderline.

Salvage value of the vehicle plays into the equation. high salvage value = lower threshold to TLV.

theres no way vehicle with frame damage, that has rolled over 10x be safe to drive regardless.
i dont understand what you are trying to say. Your estimate of $10k is not even close to what it would cost to repair this X3. Roll over cars are instant TLV, there is no estimate written on Flood, Fire, and Rollover cars.

The wife was hit by someone on the right rear 2 years ago, bent the wheel in, suspension was broken. Repair was $3800.

I had a total loss with a motorcycle and a Ford Focus covered by State Farm which the threshold was 75% of the market value of the vehicles.

its probably totaled. My GFs accord was valued at 15k or something and had way less damage (t bone as well, but was still drivable) and got totaled out.

Is this accurate? https://www.carinsurance.com/Article...hresholds.aspx

That lists Iowa at 50%, Oklahoma at 60%, Nevada at 65%.

you stated that the insurance will repair a car upto 90% of the car value, and that means extensive damage like a roll over. I said roughly $10k in parts not including labor and paint.

OP good luck with everything

Repair cost came in at a bare minimum of 75% of the replacement value, maybe more as the shop cannot determine the extent of the suspension damage until they tear it apart.

Waiting on insurance to get back to me, surely they total it??

Looks totaled to me. From the pictures, I thought it was t-boned in an intersection. That's an insane amount of damage for a parking lot accident.

Fuckers wanted to repair it! $15K estimate and they said their limit is 75% of replacement. I said this makes no sense guys, replacement is in the 20 to 21K range so 15K is damn close.

They took another look and agreed so it's being totaled. i wonder of they valued it higher but TBH when i look at Autotrader, replacement cost is 20K including taxes.

So now you get to go through the hassle of getting another vehicle.

In theory, if you were already considering a new vehicle, it works out. Otherwise, it is a hassle and expense you weren't planning on at this time. And if you like to order a car to order, you have a wait.

Glad to hear they totaled it!!! Having a car with that much repair work is a big hit on the value of the car and long term reliability. Even if they repaired it I'd sell it as fast as possible. I don't believe for a second that repairs will be as good as the factory product.

Valuation was MUCH higher than i anticipated, was rather shocked.

Replacement shown below, I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS I SWEAR, Mrs been lusting after one in red for a while now.

This is the Ti Lusso which is the plush model, i would have went with the Ti Sport myself, as you can see below the interior is brushed metal rather than wood and the seats and brilliant (better bolstered, under knee extension etc); Steering wheel is on the correct side too, so that's a bonus.
