Tires recommendation

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I'll need to switch to the Michelin Pilots Sports 4 All Season since we don't get heavy snow here and all season is generally the way to go. My question is, anyone here running a bigger size tires?

I have the X3M competition and the stock tire size is 255/40/21 front and 265/40/21 rear.

Nice, did it improve ride quality? Do they fit well with the oem comp wheels?

im not sure if this has been answered or not, Ive looked through the the other 265/295 thread, but if I were to go with 295 rears would it stick out a lot if I also paired it with 15m spacers? r33_RGSport thoughts?

No, I am using a 12mm and wish I used 15mm.

With 295, 15mm will poke out IIRC.

I can't answer your question directly as I don't have spacers but I do have 295s and, it's subtle, but I just don't like the look of the extra tire bulge from over sizing them. It's my wife's car and she really doesn't care and the benefit it a little extra rim protection. Just something to think about.

Would there be any issues in running a square set up? IE 265/40/21 all around?

I have Michelin Pilot Sport 4 All Seasons on my 2021 X4MC with 265 front and 295 rear. I have Michelin Pilot Sport 4 All Seasons on my 2022 X4MC with 255 front and 295 rear. (265's were not in stock anywhere when I was swapping). No spacers. No fitment issues. No ride complaints. However, I will say the 255 fronts on the 2022 are more rounded than the 265 fronts on the 2021. I can live with it but the 265's match the profile of the 295's better than the 255's. Not sure if I ordered the wrong 255's (255/40ZR-21 MICHELIN PILOT SPORT ALL SEASON 4 FULL RING VELOUR XL) versus the 265's but I find the profile difference between the 255's and 295's mildly annoying.

This is the first I heard about the “bulge” of the 295 in the rear.
Most of the pics posted have shown the 295s to be a darn good fit on the stock rear wheel width.

Perhaps it's the brand? Pirelli Scorpion AS. The shop had no problem fitting them. Maybe the design is different.

I am interested in the buldge comment. This pictures are of my car on MSS and 12mm spacers. The tires are Michelin Ps4 in 265 and 295.

Thank you all for the details. I'll go with the Michelin pilot sports 4 all season 265/295. I take no spacers would be required correct? I was thinking 255/295 but I think 265 would look way better.

I agree. As I mentioned above, I have both setups and the 265/295 looks better. No spacers needed.
