Yeah the days of lease deals are gone for a while at least. Assuming the MF isn't marked up the only way to negotiate a lower payment is to get a discount off MSRP which we know isn't happening. No more lease cash, boosted residuals, first and second payment, subsidized MF, etc. However, with used car prices still high you may be able to recoup some equity on an early lease turn in but impossible to predict. I trading my wife's 2020 X3M in 8 months early and getting $6,000 in equity which effectively lowers my payment by $200.

Also, I would keep calling dealers. If they are saying 5 months it's just a guess because they don't have any allocations and no way to no for sure when they will despite what they tell you. I called over 10 before a member on here gave me a lead and got one same day.

Generally I would lease an M car, but lease numbers are horrible and most dealers just don't have much incentive with leases.
I went ahead and financed my car. I did make a mistake by going with bmw financial because their rate is 2% higher than my local credit union. I am in the process of refinancing the loan to 3.25% which is not bad compared to 5.75% from bmw financial.

What are the current lease rates/residuals?

Also, what is BMW's current financing rate? The dealers successfully lobbied BMW to pull that off of their corporate site so they could mark it up.

Not sure but if you ask on the KBB forums they will be able to provide it to you.

Anyone know of any dealers in Central Florida with an allocation? My dealer is saying they are expecting to get one at the beginning of the month.

I have to say for any military personnel or federal employees currently serving or going overseas, if you can, wait to get the car while overseas. If you are overseas already then definitely get a BMW before going back. I am in Germany and have used the military program here 4 times in 5 years. The discounts are lower now and no more free shipping to the U.S. through BMW, but it is a great deal especially on M cars. The current discount is 5% off the MSRP (It used to be 10%). Allocations are much easier here as well. $700 delivery charge is the only fee you pay and for me $105 fee to register the car for 3 years. No sales tax at the time of purchase. There is also the option to pick up the new car in the U.S.

Through the years I ordered a M240i, M2C, M3(current car), and now a X3MC(Wife's car), as I moved up in rank so did my cars LOL!

My 2023 X3MC with almost every option was $83,207 out the door. Ordered 20 June 2022. Financed at the local CU at 3.24% with a 120 day rate lock because it was being built. Dealer said they should have this week. Even though BMW won't ship it back to the U.S. for free anymore, the Army ships one vehicle free.

Sound like good advice for service members.

Question though, all X’s (including X3MC) are made in USA, so are you saying BMW won’t ship to Germany, then ship back to the U.S., all for free? Surprised that was even an option at all tbh if you say they used to do that.

Yes the shipping to Germany is included in the price. The Shipping back to the states is not.

Most reputable dealerships won't charge your more than msrp for an X3M. If you wait longer you might get some discounts. Don't expect much.
A car at the dealership parking lot will definitely be easier to negotiate.

But if you need a custom build one and want everything on it then I guess buying at msrp isn't such a bad idea.

Absolutely fair in this market. Just ask about markups on financing or any required add ons. Also, just to confirm this is for an allocation they currently have and not just to get on a list?

I found a 2022 X3m in alpine white that the dealership was willing to let go 2k under Msrp, but I don't like the spec.

No required adds on and i'm financing through my credit union. This is a current allocation, I already have a production number and is set to be build on week 44.

I am looking for some advice as my 2020 X3M lease end is coming up in May. Typically I turn in my lease when my new ordered BMW comes in and swap. This time around due to higher lease rates etc. I have not made a plan of my next lease. Usually I would have something on order by now but I may wait it out and drive my F30 in the mean time.

With that being said, I am unsure what to do as I have never dealt with this sort of thing. My current payoff is about $48k and it seems my vehicle currently is worth somewhere in the mid 50s depending on where you look. Residual is $44k.

I thought about buying the car out but unsure if I want to keep it as I get bored with cars fast. But its a 15k mile vehicle and its pristine so it may be worth keeping for now.

So my thoughts are, would it be worth trying to sell the vehicle now before the lease is up? If I opt to do this, I believe I need to pay the car off with BMW Financial or they will not release the title say if someone else takes out a loan to pay it off to buy it from me? Is that still correct? I also believe I cannot trade it in to say Carmax/Carvana etc because of this?

Would it be worth buying it out at lease end and selling it as there seems to be equity in it?

Hypothetically. If someone buys it from me now and cuts me a check personally and I then pay it off with BMWFS. How does that work with taxes and can I go this route?

The biggest drawback for you to have a 3rd party pay you so that you can pay off your car is the trust issue. Not sure who would trust to buy a car this way unless a close friend or a relative of yours. The title will be delayed once you pay it off and have to wait for it to arrive in the mail which could take over a month. When I refied my BMWFS loan it took more than a month to get the new title mailed to me as paid off. THen I had to go to DMV and add the new refi credit union as the new lien holder and have the NJ DMV mail them them title because they threaten to end the loan and asked for a ballon payment otherwise. DMV employee let me take a picture of the new title before taking it back to forward to new creditor. At least that is the norm around me in NY/NJ. Not sure how 3rd party dealerships deal with this. I think some manufacturers also stopped 3rd parties to get involved on lease returns and some such as Tesla no longer allows buy out even by the lessee any longer!

https://www.cars.com/articles/tesla-...models-449359/

2021 with 6K miles and minor cosmetic damage history sold for $56K today on a no reserve auction.

https://carsandbids.com/auctions/3gORmaYe/2021-bmw-x3-m

If you have a house with a decent equity then go get a HELOC to pay off the loan, wait for the title and sell it yourself, if it is still worth to unlock any equity left in the car. You have to pay the sales tax on the balance due. It was worth the effort even 6 months ago but used market has changed a lot since then. You have to do your HW hard to see if the hassle is worth it. good luck.

Hi everyone,

My 2020 X3MC lease is up in May & I just visited the dealer that leased me the car. They have 1 allocation for a 2023 X3MC that they are willing to give me @ MSRP.

MSRP: $83,795.00
36/10
$7,431.38 drive off
$1,249.34/ month

Thoughts?
