The X3M is the least represented vehicle in auto journalism history. Seriously, every time it's the X4M.

Also I hope that yanni is just playing to the cameras or he doesn't deserve to be driving fast cars. Worst drag racer ever

How so? People get caught up more on specs than actual performance.

I think a mid to late 11 secs 1/4 shows the performance of the x4m (almost same car as x3m apart from rear quarter) it's great.

The brakes to me are superb but don't have much to compare to, kills speed - disks do look massive

The S58 simply outclasses the competition. If this is the last BMW inline 6 cylinder engine it's good to see them go out with a bang.

Sadly I agree. In October I did an HPDE day including emergency braking maneuvers where the brakes were disappointing. Maybe it's the pads though because on track at speed they felt very good heated up. Around town they feel nice and responsive but I'm never testing threshold braking.

You have to know essentially BMW went the lazy/quick route and instead of increasing piston size/pad area, which would have necessitated a MC change compared to the rest of the X3/Gxx lineup, it was more cost effective to just upsize the rotor diameter.

That being said, upgrade the pads to a better semi-metallic.

First - until i made stage1 (680hp) map - brakes were more less, after remap - u have 2-3 time fast acceleration, for example in city 0-150 from stoplight and after it's feels like brake are completely gone... especially at summer time.

I was suprsed and start to investigate the problem, so

1. Yes, x3m has a big rotor and big brake caliper, BUT WITH SUPER SMALL PAD look a the picture bellow:

That's why the breaks feels so bad, even with their sizes.

After installing brembo 8 piston kit car has comletly different behavior on braking, especially when u brakes on high speed.

If you check picture bellow, u will find answer, u have 8 pistion and 4 pads instead of 2!!

This is proper brakes for the car, shame to bmw, that they put so weak brakes(

STOCK SIZE: 395x36mm 4 Piston

BREMBO KIT: 412x38 8 piston

The only reason I want to go Brembos is because they are unbelievably sexy. I just wished someone sold a red rear caliper so I don't have to go through the hassle of painting them myself or losing weeks to have them powder coated.

It's 1 hour of work max to paint it with spray, don't need any powder coated and looks like stock

Yanni is entertaining but my dog could launch better than him.
