What is your dash cam setup ?

Hello all,

If anyone has a dash cam setup they'd like to share with the rest of us please drop it in here. Currently looking to do front and rear with some sort of parking mode.

Thanks

I use the viofo a129 duo and use a Cellink Neo battery.
You can of course save on the battery and just hardwire it to your car battery.

I have BlackVue that I've been using since 2014.
Just need to find time to install it on my X3MC.

I looked into this last week to see where or how to tie in the power for a hard wired dash cam but haven't found suitable drawings yet. Don't particularly want to run a cable through the cabin into the boot to the Power distribution board (got drawings for) if there isn't somewhere under the steering column to use for a supply.

I have a garmin66w that I have simply hidden the usb power between the trim all the way to the 12v power socket in the rear side of the centre console.

I know it's not hard wired but it's better than nothing. My last garmin has the white screen hope this new gen doesn't suffer the same gremlins I think the heat in summer and cold in winter killed it

I use a cheap DDpai unit and its piggy back fuse tapped into the fuse box in the drivers side (UK) footwell.

easy enough job - there is some good guidance on the main X3 forum

havent done a back one yet though

Garage List
2018 Mini JCW  [10.00]
2019 BMW X3 M40i  [10.00]
I have the Thinkware F770 F/R that has excellent parking mode. Not concerned about overnight parking mode, but without Extra battery lasts plenty long enough for me.

Had this setup in my Q5 before this M40i

I have the Escort M1 attached to my Escort 360Max - both are hardwired into the fuse box. I'm not terribly happy with the M1 thus far, and would recommend you look elsewhere.

Reviving this thread. After my first X3MC got totaled (guy rammed into me) and I just got my replacement, I'm seriously considering a dash cam for the new X3MC. Debating between the Thinkware U1000 dual and the Blackvue dr900s-2ch, any thoughts?

I use the BMW Advanced Car Eye 2.0 despite there being better cameras out here. Park mode can be set using the internal g sensor and/or the cars built in radar. Being in NYC, I want it to trigger whenever someone approaches the car not just break in or hit it.

It's not discrete so the cameras are quite visible if someone is looking and the power light turns on when it's triggered, hopefully to deter vandals and break-ins. The warranty also lasts the duration of the new car warranty so I feel comfortable that if it breaks, they'll replace it.

I've been a fan of BlackVue.
I have 3 or 4 sets, lol.

Another vote of confidence in Cellink NEO battery. Highly recommend it.
