Tire settings in iDrive - does it affect dampers/ride?

Does anyone know if the "Tire settings" in iDrive 6, e.g. the Summer vs Winter/All Season, etc setting affect the ride/suspension/damper characteristics in any way on an X3M?

TIA.

My view is that it doesn't, it simply displays the recommended pressure for the tyre/load you select.

You may be right. I just recall reading on this or another forum some "load setting" that could affect the dampers / ride, and I thought it might have something to do with the tire settings.

So it may just be a placebo affect, but I swear that when I change my Tire setting from Winter / All Season (which I changed to immediately after getting my new Michelin All Seasons fitted) back to the Summer 21s setting inside iDrive, the ride IS better. I am in Sport mode on the suspension.

Another guy reporting something similar here:

https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1603074

However, in that thread most seemed to agree it was just for TPMS purposes.

Anyone else want to join my experiment and swap settings? The main area I notice the difference in is over "jarring" bumps, not big undulating road conditions.

Again, might just all be in my head, but I swear it seems different.

I would say get out of sport mode. To me it's the worst suspension setting. Try sport plus if you want it more aggressive. On mine comfort and sport plus are way better at controlling the bumps. Not sure what they did with sport mode but to me it serves zero purpose.

As far as winter/summer goes I didn't notice anything

I tried Comfort for weeks and felt Sport mode was a tiny bit better. But there is so little difference between all 3 modes that its really hard to tell.
