lowering X4m

Does anyone know if the F97/F98 adaptive suspension is the same as the G01/G02? ie they use the same springs? Looking to lower my X4MC. Thanks.

I am researching on that.

So far, this what I found out.
The G01/G02 spring will fit, but not sure if it will give it any drop since X3M and X4M is about 1" lower than X3 and X4.

it should work. I had one of the first F80 M3 back when it first came out. there were no lowering springs right away so I used the lowering springs from F30 3 series and it worked out fine.

And lose the ability to change the dampening on the fly?

A got a lot of customers with M cars or EDC equipped BMW that doesn't want to lose it.

Spring is perfectly fine.
Ideally is KW HAS since with it, you'll be able to dial the height as you like or corner balancing.

Yea, I am going to SEMA today and will talk to KW about HAS and H&R about VTF.
See who has it in their pipeline.

Almost, except for the trunk space.... Took mine in for the first service yesterday, and they gave me a 330i hybrid as a loaner. What a tiny trunk. I could never own a coupe.

I saw those on a HR Japanese website. Wonder if they are available for non-US markets first as the US website doesn't have any applications yet. But if they work for a x3m should work for x4m. Thanks for that part number.

A guy on the Macan forum lowered his Macan S, looks like a sedan to me. So the X3M would look equally as good.

I see absolutely zero point in lowering the X3/4M. If it is already stiff and goes nearly 1g around a skidpad, why would you drop it and probably make the ride worse? Just for looks? k have fun with that.

Looks are one of the most important things when owning a car.

This is my SUV that is lowered. On a daily basis, someone rolls their window down and tells me it is awesome.

No proof but my seat of the pants says it corners better now too.

Reading through info on the suspension i am not sure how it would work. Seems like the suspension takes an input from the distance from body to wheel. if it was lowered would it make it rock solid because it thinks its upder corning load??

+1
A lot of ppl don't understand, that if you are lowering M car, especially SUV - u can destroy all suspension settings if you want to lower the car - use a good suspension, not the springs

I have lowered f80 on kw clubsport and this is another grip league compare to the stock, but i will never lower my x3m (with the springs), cuz it's will be too harsh and probably stock suspension will not work correctly

p.s. One year ago, one guy with m2c crash his car on the track, he was on stock suspension + springs and the main reason of crashing was the SPRINGS! cuz they made car less stability on the limit

Mb i am not right, just sharing my expirience, i had a lot of cars with springs and with aftermarket coilovers and springs never gave a good grip and traction, only made cars nice looking and harsh (on the ttrack, in real life u can't feel difference)
