Transmission sport settings

Is there any difference between shifting the transmission shifter to m/s And selecting sport plus settings for transmission in sport individual? Do they basically accomplish the same thing?
I know there are other variables such as engine performance settings, but apples to apples, any programming logic differences?

I've not played with it much but sport plus holds the gears to high revs..it's fine if you are driving hard but if back off it's not ideal. Currently I use sport individual set for sport transmission and sport plus engine. I then use m/s as I want it.

Sport plus transmission I believe is more aggressive than sport transmission and shifter to the left.
