When I got mine, the dealer insisted that I just order them because I was looking for a brown leather with matte poplar wood trim. It was a painless process for me and got pretty good incentives.

F95/F96 just started US customer delivery weeks prior to Spartanburg shutdown. These slots are not that hard to secure as the B58 models are the highest demand.

Great news for the region.

I agree with you things are going to get far worse before they get better I would think ramping up manufacturing now will simply add fuel to the fire....

BMW plant starts production again

BMW is gradually ramping up its production. As of today, work will also start again in Dingolfing.

Vehicle production should initially start in a single shift, as spokesman Thomas Niedermeier announced at the end of April. In the upstream technologies (such as press shop, body shop and paint shop), work was sometimes resumed earlier. BMW has taken various measures to ensure employee safety. "The spectrum of protective measures ranges from compliance with the hygiene and distance regulations to the use of protective masks and the reorganization of work contents and shift plans in certain areas. We have introduced a large number of measures just to comply with the distance regulations," says Niedermeier. In Regensburg, BMW plans to resume vehicle production at the earliest on Monday, May 18. There will also be extensive hygiene and protective measures here.

For BMW, returning from crisis mode is more difficult than expected. In April, sales had plummeted by 44 percent, said CEO Oliver Zipse. A few days ago, the company announced that it would cut investments by a third and cut jobs. BMW currently has 90,000 employees in Germany, 30,000 of whom are currently on short-time work.

After a corona break: BMW starts production in Dingolfing
The car maker BMW is starting production again today after the Corona forced break. But to a lesser extent: with a one-shift operation at the Dingolfing location. The other plants of the group will follow in the coming weeks.
After a seven-week Corona break, the early shift workers in Europe's largest BMW plant with 18,000 employees in Dingolfing started car production again this morning at 5 a.m.
Protection of employees is paramount
However, many jobs look different than usual. To protect the employees, hygiene and distance regulations were made and processes reorganized. The employees have to be re-instructed in the partly redesigned workplaces. Therefore, the tapes will probably only start up properly during the day.
Start of late shift production still open
Instead of working in two shifts as before, BMW in Dingolfing initially only works in one shift. When the late shift will start producing again depends above all on the demand for new cars. The other major German BMW car productions in Munich, Regensburg and Leipzig are scheduled to start up again on May 18 at the earliest.

I would hope they put priority on orders that came in before this all happened. Ordered mine the first week of March. Salesman said I would have it within 3-4 weeks. 3.5 weeks in they shut down. Found out they didn't even assign it to be produced by then. Now being told it will "start" production the first week of June. Mean time I have been looking at other makes.
