That's an amazing deal. I was about to pull the trigger on a black X3MC a month ago, tartufo interior, but the lowest my local dealer down here in orange county would go to was $1195 a month including taxes, $2100 drive off, no money down, MSRP around 82k. I asked for discounts and incentives and the dealer repeatedly told me they can't discount the X3MC models as they are very high spec models, etc. Then when I cancelled the deal and got a RR sport V8, they messages me back within an hour saying they got the OK from their manager to discount the X3MC by about $6000.

Would the dealer where you got your car be willing to ship me a car in future? Or would I have to go in and pick up the car in person? I know some BMW dealerships do all the paperwork online and deliver the car straight to you.

If I had your deal, I would probably be sitting in the X3MC now instead of a RR Sport. Not that I'm complaining at all though, both are great cars, but the added speed of the X3MC will surely be missed.

Enjoy your ride, it's a beaut!

I had the same issue with my local dealer. The deal I got in Atlanta was $100 cheaper on a loaded comp car vs a standard X3M with exec and vent seats in Birmingham. Made the 5 hour round trip drive well worth it.

Find a dealer with inventory. Birmingham had 1, United in Atlanta had 17.

I am sure they would work with you some how. I'd imagine you could have the car shipped to you if you did the paper work electronically. May be a fun way to take a new ride home like I did.

I have some X3M deals available in the NY/NJ region.

Example:
X3M Comp
$82,345 MSRP
$799/mo + tax
1st month, dealer/doc/, acquisition, & dmv at signing

PM me if you're interested in a straightforward deal on an in-stock X3M or X3MC.

This is key and what worked for me. Look at TrueCar and see how long any car of interest has been sitting on the lot. I built a spreadsheet (I'm like that...) and systematically reached out to 3 dealers within a reasonable radius. They were all appalled at first, but some persistence and walking away pays off. The key is inventory and having 2 close to equal horses in the race (from a build and spec perspective). Winter (at least here on the east coast) I think has also been helpful. All done online too—took 45 mins at dealership and a fun ~3hr drive home!

Rock solid deal right there. Can you answer the question on purchasing a car out of state and having it shipped. Is that possible?

You'd have to pay for shipping but yes

I've always found it ridiculous that BMW charge the customer for the $1000 shipping of a car. If the deal is signed on a brand new 80-90K car, they should pay the shipping themselves.

I was quoted X3MC

3yr/36k

MSRP: 82,695
Discount: 11,850 (mixture of rebates / discount)
Adjusted Price: 70,845
Taxable Fees: 925
Dealer Fee: 75
Tax: 2,673
Balance: 74,538.50

Total Drive Off: 5,076.39

Monthly: 847.91

Thoughts? Not too keen on the 5k down, think it would make more sense @ 3k.

As the other poster mentioned, we need a break down of what rebates you qualify for to determine what the dealer discount is. Right now, assuming no conquest or loyalty, or any others, and just using the lease cash, your dealer discount is under 10%. If you have conquest (which I'm betting you do, if you have any other car) or loyalty (even better!), then the discount is even worse.

I think you should be able to pull a pre-incentive discount of greater than 10% in this area. Your due at signing is always going to be high because in NY tax is due upfront. If you roll it in, great, but you will be paying interest on the full tax amount. It's not calculated like tax on leases elsewhere.

I'd also suggest you look into MSDs and apply them if possible.

Check out Crevier in OC... should be able to do quite a bit better than your quoted deal

I think you need to familiarize yourself with leasing. What is the MF? You don't want to do any kind of cap cost reduction on a lease. Also, find out exactly how that 5k breaks down. How much are dealer/gov fees? Are you paying taxes upfront (probably not). Do you know what you are eligible for incentives-wise? It looks like close to half of your discount is coming from bmw not the dealer. Check with edmunds but you could be getting $4250 lease cash and $750 conquest. If the dealer is applying that $5k from BMW to your discount you are leaving a ton of money on the table.

Don't ever negotiate on monthly payment and make sure to get your discount off msrp before any available incentives. Know the MF (it's .00142 this month) and shoot for 11-12% off (or more depending on your area) and then apply your incentives. Are you eligible for penfed or usaa discounts? College grad? Corporate? Some of these are stackable and others are not. But you should exhaust your research before going in to the dealership. No one is your friend in there.

About to pull the trigger, can someone evaluate on a 36/10:

MSRP: 82,695
Dealer Discount: 6679.95
Rebates: $5,750 (loyalty included)
Acq Fee: 925
Dealer Fees: 95
Reg: 200
Negative Equity: 2,559.02
Money Factor: .00142
Tax: 7.75%

Payment: 917 / 4600 due at signing

When I plug it into Edmunds, the math checks out, but when I plug it into Bank Rate, the numbers are off.

Also, I know they could probably discount 1-2k more, but I'm getting that on the back end of the trade so I'm happy with that.

Definitely need to get another $2k off msrp. Should save you about $54-$60 per month. I would walk over anything less than 10% off msrp.

Your discount is around 7.5%, you could easily get 11-12% in the tristate area before incentives. If you lease out of NYS you can do 7 MSD's and lower your payment by around $40/mos.

Why do you have negative equity? If that is from a current lease you realize that you are rolling in that $2559 and paying interest on it for the next 3 years rather than riding out the lease you have now and starting clean when it's over. Just FYI: it's always a bad idea to roll negative equity into a lease.

Also find out exactly how that $4600 is being broken down....

I agree. I am going to shoot for 10% discount minimum before incentives w/ 2500-3000 drive off to cover taxes upfront.

This was the dealers first quote sent to me via email.

Just FYI: it's always a bad idea to roll negative equity into a lease.

Also find out exactly how that $4600 is being broken down....
$4,600 covers negative equity (so technically no interest), acq, dealer, and reg.

The negative equity isn't ideal -- when is it ever? -- but the car is only 5 months into ownership and I feel like that's a small price to pay given how new the car is. It's an X2 M35 and I just want something more brutal. The massive manufacturer side discount and makes it palatable.
