I'm considering buying a new suv next year and think this one would be good.
Also looking at Tesla model Y, Audi Q4 e tron or Volvo xc40 recharge. All better come in around $50k, because if not.. Tesla wins. Not paying $60-70. Yes, flame me now.
The problem I have with iX3 is:

1) announced two wheel drive that I haven't seen any contradiction on (looking for at least an auto mag report of the level of the initial report).

2) lame performance - XC40 recharge is targeting 4.7 sec to 60 which is roughly M40i performance. Honestly I'd be tempted to put a deposit on a Recharge if it were just a tad larger.

I am interested in an EV but I just can't get excited about Tesla. The looks are just tired at this point and I think they'll continue to look the same for the foreseeable future. I feel like all of the models are indistinguishable from the front.
Yes, Norvegians that was listed buying the IX3 got info on the X3 electric today.

Several intresting pieces:

Range: above 440km WTLP, battery 74kWh available.

5'th gen eDrive, improved weight and effieciency about 30%

210KW/286, 400Nm, RWD!

Below 20kWh/100 km

150 kW charging.

Q3 2020.

I'm no longer on the list, RWD is a laugh.

That was a disappointment for sure. I was hoping it would be a e-Tron quattro contender. No way I will go for a RWD iX3, not where I live where I actually NEED AWD.
Lets wait for a "iX3M" with AWD and some decent performance.

I put in a (refundable) deposit on both of these. I'm totally willing to cancel if something more interesting comes along in the meantime and I'll choose between them later.

Polestar 2 is getting roof rail option and retractable tow hitch option, I emailed them about it.

Lucky you! Hopefully you'll be able to post your opinion on the vehicle here, the Polestar 2 is one of the vehicles I'm looking forward to in 2020.

The car is simply stunning in person.

Contact Polestar directly regarding driving the car.

Tell them you are interested in driving the car as soon as it is available.

From the paper specs, it seems it might be on the small side. What was your impression of rear seat leg room and cargo capacity? Can a six foot person sit behind a six foot person and carry reasonable luggage?

While we are on the topic of EVs, I recently ran across a bombshell about EPA range. Apparently many cars are penalized for having different charging options (e.g. choosing to charge to 80% to avoid battery wear), and the EPA rates based on the manufacturer recommended charge level rather than a full charge. For some reason EPA lets Tesla rate at 100% battery despite having selectable charge levels.

Just getting this out there because it seems super important, most EV discussions end up boiling down to "meh, poor range" or something, when it seems that the playing field may be skewed.

Rear seat legroom was fine.

Headroom was tight in the back for my 6.5 frame.

But its not like I;d ever sit back there. I sat behind the Polestar rep and he was a big dude as well.

RWD only is a deal breaker for me, in New England where the weather can get nasty sometimes. Otherwise I would seriously consider it. An SUV without 4WD? BMW has lost its way.
