powerbox expieriences
Does anyone have expierence with a powerbox upgrade for his engine (mine is a 2.0d 110Kw..???
on the market they sell boxes from $150 up to $600,-...what is the diffrence between those? hope anyone can give me some advice... thx John |

They work quite well if you just want performance but do not do it. Better to go for an ECU remap.
I have done both and now have a remap. Search for Bluefin - that is what I am now using. Why do I say this? The engine management is tied to the auto transmission (torque reduction during gear changes) and is tied to the stability control. The power boxes mean that the engine is putting out more power and torque than the management thinks it is. This does not work well with the other components. If you were in Australia I could sell you a spider box quite cheap (one of the better adaptive tuning boxes) if you wanted to go down that path. |
