The problem is I don't see any evidence that it is the air-based system from the X5 with active roll stabilization which is where the big gains are made in both performance and comfort.

Its too bad they won't offer suspension package similar to DHP on the X5 with real torque vectoring, active roll stabilization, etc. Perhaps the X3 isn't big/heavy enough to warrant the option? Maybe the X3M will offer it?

DHP is already included as Standard in the M40 version and its also Tuned to a higher extent than it is on X3/X4/X5 non-M40 or non-M models. Chassis is specifically tuned to M///Performance specifics and I remember quite well I came from after 2yr ownership from a X3 M-Sport pkg w/ DHP.

My X4 M40 with 20s, full tank and driver weighed in at 4455lbs online shows at around 4235lbs. I'm sure the G chassis will include extra/different Suspension options than currently being offered in the F25/F26.

DHP but not the Dynamic Adaptive system from the X5, correct? Not the air suspension with active roll stabilization, correct?

The "Adaptive M Suspension" has the "rear axle air suspension" as standard on the F26 M40i version (M Performance tuned) and I believe all M-Sport models across the X lineup, all tuned depending on model. For example, it is an option box to check off on X5 models as an M-Sport option or a 3rd row + air suspension option...which you would need on a X5 with a 3rd row if you wanted the kids to keep their breakfast, lunch or dinner off the inside of your windshield...the reason you can't have a 3rd row with M-Sport because the air suspension is tuned differently.

Took me awhile not to confuse Driving Dynamics Control (DDC) with Dynamic Damper Control (DDC) with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with DHP that has both DDC and DDC. The Dynamic Damper Control (DDC) in Dynamic Handling Package (DHP) is the "system adjusts the damping characteristics to suit the driving conditions and road quality. The damping changes contribute to a more stable-feeling ride."

It's just easier to say "Adaptive M Suspension" because the X3 and X5 have different DHPs.

I'm so confused lol.

Agreed. I just saw no indication of air suspension in the order guide linked in this thread.

I made note of that too. I hope air suspension will be an option like it now is on the GLC and Q5.

Watched an interesting YouTube video from 24 Jan 2017 ('2017 Audi Q5 – Air Suspension with Damper Control') which shows exploded views of its integration beneath the Q5. It can raise 45mm for offroad and lower 15mm for highway efficiency.

A nydailynews.com article 1 Oct 2016 by Christian Wardlaw ('First Look: 2018 Audi Q5 is the “just right” solution for luxury SUV shoppers') indicated about the 2018 Q5, "It is larger than the vehicle it replaces, yet it loses almost 200 pounds and boasts an aerodynamic coefficient of drag measuring as low as 0.30." Maybe it can reach thanks to the lowering ability of the air suspension?

That will be a big improvement in the 0.35 Cd we have now if the G01 can come close to that.

Yup. Active anti-roll bars takes comfort to amazing height. Adaptive dampers alone aren't enough for supreme ride quality.

In the press G30 5-Series fitted with Adaptive Drive(active stabilisers) have received exceptional praise for ride quality. It's almost 3 times more expensive than VDC but on my rough and uneven local roads it will be worth it. Last year I had the G12 7-Series for 3 days and it certainly raised the benchmark for the ride quality my wife and I want in our next X3. Fingers crossed the G01 X3 has Adaptive Drive and comfort seats as an option to make it a true luxury car.

Lastly, I hope BMW will support Android Auto. I have now been using it for 2 month in my second car its utterly fantastic. Anytime I enter the car, it already knows where I want to go, shows me the ETA, and even gives me related traffic warnings on my phone 15-30min before departure.

Yes, Apple Car Play is available, I've tried it too but it is just a grid of icon and nowhere as helpful or easy to use as Android Auto

Agree. I still suspect a fair number of X3 owners who have switched to other Mnfr's offerings may have been looking mainly for an improved 'fit and finish' and a better interior cabin environment. With the 'Wish List' aptly documenting the support for a more luxurious experience, coupled with the work other teams have put into their cabin appointments, BMW will have missed the mark in my opinion if they don't raise the bar in this area.

With that said, I still plan to use our G01 M40i as my go-to utility hauler as I have with all three of our X3s to date. Although the pristine carpeted trunk area carrying clean, nicely appointed luggage looks wonderful in their product catalogs, I think many of us choose the X3 as it is very capable for heavy-duty loads. Hopefully they will offer a 'Heavy Duty Cargo' tray as an option in the final ordering guide.

Greetings, Jayg80. If you follow the link I attached to my 13 Mar 2017, 701AM post (in this thread), it'll take you to the page where 'ddanny' attached the pdf file of this ordering guide. Apologies I didn't reference that in my first post.

Thank you, it wasn't showing on the BP app.

Adding again here since the title of this thread is ordering guide in case someone else needs it.
