Apple car play antenna. UK

Hi. I recently coded car play but annoyingly If my iPhone is not in or around the cup holder area the connection cuts out. I’ve read online that I need a WiFi antenna. Does anyone have the bmw part number for this or where in the uk I can buy with quick delivery. Also will this need to be coded as it’s unclear from what I’ve read.
Thanks

You may try something like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-NBT-E...wAAOSwoMZcpLL~

From what I now, there is no additional coding required.

I have had the same, CarPlay coded, and was looking into wifi antenna option.
It ssems that it should/would just plug into the back of the "head unit".

But my local Car Audio specialist thought best to speak to dealer (who won't be any help) as could be warranty issues.

From what I have googled, seems to be something like this:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3289...ceBeautifyAB=0

But yet to find "official part number" but seems to have a FAKRA connection

Thanks that’s what I’m after but I’d rather buy official bmw rather than some Chinese brand.

I’ve found the guide on how to remove the hu if anyone else is in same boat... pretty simple just fining the right part lol

Think it's either:

61116816271 or 61118798647

Plugs into number 9 port here:

What I meant by that comment was, I’d rather purchase one that’s been fitted to bmw vehicles which is known to work rather than spend x amount on a unknown retailer for it for fail or not work say in 6 months time. Rather spend the money once and get myself the right product.

Hmm... google: oem navigations. Com

There support service is bang on point and fast!, I had an issue with my car not reading the software correctly, WhatsApp them late in the evening and sorted straight away. Plus they are uk based.

Note: I’m no way affiliated with this company!

Ok found it, £80 though!

I just wanted to try it to see if Spotify was more reliable than the BMW apps one, I have to piss around every time i get back in the car to get Spotify to play again, does anyone know if it's better on Carplay?

All my music and playlists is on YouTube music so having CarPlay was easier integration and looks nicer

I had never heard of Youtube music! I've already got Spotify premium, apple music & amazon music so I don't think i need another music streaming service.

If you're listening to it on Carplay can you still use the cars nav etc?

completely agree! I wouldn't want a Chinese knock off part either. Appreciate a lot of the stuff is made there, but there are many many cheap parts that don't last.
But by the looks of it, others have been more successful at finding the right thing :-)

I think £80 is a bargain, for the functionality you get, and access to iPhone Apps such as Waze and Spotify.

Neither had I! I have just canned Apple Music, and moving back to spotify, and get Amazon Music as part of Prime Membership.

Yes, you can play music etc via CarPlay and use BMW sat Nav, I do it all the time

Theres no reason to but the BMW one at £80! The £15 ones on eBay work just fine. It's just an antenna. Nothing fancy about it.

Unless I am mistaken (I often am), the £80 is for CarPlay activation, not the antenna

You'd need to speak to a BMW dealership for the genuine one.

There are a number of tried and tested non-oem ones on eBay though.
