While not directly comparable, MB has done well with its four-cylinder AMG motors. My wife's CLA45 has a four-cylinder turbo that is underrated at 375hp. The car is really quick with no discernable lag and better sound than one would expect from a four cylinder. Still, losing the V8 feel and sound would be a major loss for the GLC63, but that's the way of the world.

Financially If you compare a fully loaded 2020 X3MC $84,395 to a comparably loaded 2020 Glc 63 amg suv $90,265 the benz is significantly more. Even if you get 10% off msrp on both vehicles the incentives on the X3MC over 6k make it much more compelling plus the 3 free years of maintenance. With 10% off msrp and incentives the x3mc is about 11k cheaper.

Personally MB's V8 engines are the most compelling part of owning a Benz and the only reason I would own one. Their non-V8 models are pretty meh. As a person that's owned EVO's, STI's, Golf R's I'm kind of over turbo 4-cylinder engines as there really is no replacement for displacement although I do like the AMG A45.

But yeah, I'd have went with AMG too except they only have the coupe here, and they do not incentivize their leases. |

Thanks Brother, I appreciate it. I'm still dealing with the aftermath on a daily basis, the medication seems like it's causing more problems than anything. Gotta love big pharma!

Had the same exact issues with my 2017 GLS 63AMG!!! Had 3 FI replaced!. It lived in the shop! Multiple suspension components replaced as well so get ready for that. My brakes were $2400 all the way around with a life expectancy of 7-9K miles. Told my SA that basically, I have to change my brakes more than I got my oil changed! Money pit. On the other hand, the sound was absolutely amazing and I loved how my rear windows would tilt open. |

What's the point of even considering a Glc 63 amg if they really downgrade the engine to a 4 cylinder? The only plus the 2020 Glc 63 amg has over the 2020 X3MC is the biturbo v8 engine and sound.

I drove the GLC63S Coupe and loved the ride and sound. IMO MB fit and finish is more refined compared to the BMW counterpart but I find the dash of every MB ugly. If they made a S version of the SUV, I would've bought that instead of the X3MC but the Coupe versions of MB and BMW useless for my needs.

It depends on if the pure electric vehicle makes sense for you. Range, charging, driving emotion are all things to factor in. I'm not convinced for me yet but by next gen or when BMW i becomes real, I might be.

You and I are in the same camp. Took a wild ride with a buddy recently in his Model S with ludicrous plus. Electric is certainly promising, but it ain't there yet for my needs. It probably will be my power plant of choice by the time I've driven the wheels off this F97....
