I wonder if there is a difference between US cars and ROW (rest of world) cars in the RPMs at which launch control launches. There was much discontent with the e60 M5 because while the rest of the world got epic 4,000-rpm launches, the US cars were set at less than half that, presumably because the US cars were covered by full maintenance plans and repeated high-rpm launches were expected to be hard on the drivetrain which BMW did not want to replace at its own cost.

Sure enough, I wasn't holding it long enough. The car eventually gets to about 2600, builds the boost and launches pretty well.
Thanks MrItaly Max Well AlexFL I was clearly doing it wrong. |

Glad you got it working right. That additional delay to build sufficient boost is tricky. My apologies as I thought the previous post had covered that particularity. We have covered it several times here on the forum, but for some reason those threads don't come up with a search for launch control. That was the one detail that was absent.

Can RPM be adjusted by the cruise control switch, like the older launch controls in BMW's?

I believe you need some trans coding for that... similar to previous ZF trans updates

One thing I have experienced is when it's hot and at altitude, it really doesn't want to build the boost. I was at 8000 feet last weekend and I was only able to launch well early in the morning with lower temps. Today here in Denver 5200 feet, 90 degrees and it wouldn't launch correctly. This cars LC is tricky. Gonna have to figure this thing out before I head to Bandimere Speedway in the next few weeks.
