X3M Competition - Best All-Season tires

Good Evening everyone, first post here and looking at the X3M Competition with the Style 892M wheels. My question is, what all-season tires do you guys have?

Any suggestions or help would be great. The Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus sound good but unsure if they’ll fit in a 21” size?

Thank you and have a great one!

Performance made to last. The MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport All Season 4 has up to 29% more tread life than leading competitors.

I’ve run these for 2 years. Some light snow. Excellent tire.

If you're going to stay with the stock 21" wheel/tire sizes I believe the pilot sport AS4 is the only tire available. The continental DWS06 is available in the rear size but not the front last time I looked.

265/40/21 (front) and 295/35/21 (rear) would be the only 21" sized appropriate for your car.

But then you end up with mixed speed ratings front/rear (W front and Y rear), which indicates different compounds. I wouldn't recommend doing this. Just go with the Michelin PSAS4's, as they really are the best choice.

I swapped in pilot sport AS4's in the fall and don't regret it. I do miss the sticky summers (especially as it gets warmer now) but overall the AS4's are a great tire and handle everything well.

Sounds like the Michelin Pilot Sport AS4’s is the move. Appreciate all your insight and help on this. Wish you all the best and stay safe

I don’t believe there is any “Best A/S tires”. They are all a compromise. When I lived in PA I always had 2 sets of tires. Summer tires and Winter tires. Just my opinion.

Not to mention those sizes are >1% different in circumference, so the xDrive system probably wouldn't like that setup.

Thanks for the input…how is the road noise on them?

There was a bit of road noise at first (compared to the conti stock summers) but at this point I have gotten used to it. It was definitely a bit noticeable on the highway but perhaps that is just me really listening closely and being OCD.

I'm looking at 21" or 20" snow tires, Pirelli Scorpions or Vredestein Wintrac pro on a second set of rims (not purchased yet) for a X4MC coming I hope in July/August I live in New York, North of the city

If you are buying new wheels anyway, then go with 20" wheels for your winter setup, with 255/45-20 tires all around. I went with MSW Type 74's for the wheels and Vredestein Wintrac pro tires. Worked great for me in Michigan this past winter.

I'm a big fan of the Vredestein after switching to them last fall on my winter setup. I'll likely get something similar on the X3M.

Why not go with a dedicated set of winters instead of all seasons? You would probably pay the same amount. I happen to know someone selling some right now too! (Me, lol)
I went with 20" winters and was very pleased with their performance.
