M Performance Hybrid Custom Wheel

Ok so I showed the preview to the M8 guys but now it is here and installed and I wanted to show you all. Based on the M Performance Pro wheel but many customizations. Swapped the alcantara and leather location, perforated leather, red stripe instead of blue, flat bottom, all functions work including heat and touch and vibration, carbon fiber top cover to match, paddles redone in darker black carbon, and finally M8 center trim with alcantara instead of matte plastic/leather of X3M wheel. If you drive one you may think differently. AMG offers a similar wheel for their GLC SUVs as Audi. It's the feel and grip. Plus one that makes over 600hp (tuned) can shame many sports cars. BMW offers the M Performance Pro wheel but so many compromises with it.

Nope mine is heated under the leather. The factory one does not. Look at theirs and note no heat button. Look at mine... BTW when you order the bare trim with heat button you lose the center alcantara too. Mine was custom made to have best of both worlds!

No problem but just having the button doesnt assure it works. On my X5M the button was still there but no heat. All BMW performance wheels with alcantara lose the heated function which is why I went custom.

Haha thanks Ben but here in Michigan it gets really cold especially after a long night shift sitting in the parking lot.

How is that flat bottom wheel in real world driving?

I can imagine it gives more egress room but curious how it is when you are turning the wheel to full lock.

Also, how much?

It's fantastic yes gives more room. I have a similar one on the M8. Feels wonderful with great grip. As for price depends on options and if you want a bare wheel or complete drop in. Mine was complete less the airbag since I kept the stock and not cheap around $2800. But I saved a ton on the parts and did not have to pay to disassemble the stock wheel and transfer it over. Bare wheel with heat and touch sensor is around $1600. The CF trim from BMW and the paddles are $800 alone. The controller, the touch sensor, the M buttons the front buttons, the harness and vibration motor is almost $1700 from BMW so yes they gave me a massive discount on the additional parts.

This is incredible. Dollar for dollar I would do something like the Akro first, but this just looks so good. I need it. Thanks for sharing

I have one similar, it IS heated under the Carbon and gets nice and warm.
They can do any colors and combination of materials that you would like and the quality is Incredible!
They also do the trim around the buttons and can do whatever you want for the paddles.
