Michelin PS4 or PS4 SUV?

Does it really matter or is it better to get the stronger SUV tires?

PS4 SUV have much lower tread life ratings and different tire compound. I would stick with star spec PS4s.

Flip side PS4 SUV come in a 285/40/21 for the rear and the 265 can go in the front.

I have the PS4 SUV on my '20 X3M non-comp. Given the PS4S aren't available in 20" OEM sizes. The PS4 SUV is an excellent tire, much better than the original P Zeros. We'll see how many miles I get from them given their lower tread life rating.

PS: When I asked a Michelin rep why different choices between non-comp 20" and comp 21", he said the Comp owners probably want max performance where non-comp would buy them to be an SUV hence the PS4 SUV is designed more for heavy SUVs. Still doesn't make since why they don't offer both tires in both sizes.

PPS: I don't feel there's any sacrifice in max performance with the PS4 SUV. They still grip like crazy yet are smooth & quiet on the highway.

Just buy 265/295 PSAS's and call it a day. The car rides and handles so much better in most conditions with these tires. My PS4's were harsh and noisy and almost dangerous below 45 degrees

If you have 21's I have a slightly used set of PS4's I'd sell you cheap

how does that help in the ride improvement area?

BMW Star spec PS4S tires have different rubber compounds and compound arrangements as opposed to the "general" non-star spec'd ones. Also the compounds are different for the stock front and rear sizes.
