BMS Intake

Hi All,

I read a few forums with feedback on the BMS intake… pretty sold, especially because it seems fairly easy to throw back the OEM intake for any maintenance.

I have no interest in a tune at the moment since I drive a MY24 X3MC and don’t want to get into any potential warranty voids.

So the question is, should I be concerned about installing the BMS without a tune? Just looking for sound at the moment… I’ll focus on performance in a couple years. I saw some installs earlier this year without tune was and curious if there have been any issues since putting some miles on.

Also, the gloss back seems to be out of stock EVERYWHERE and I haven’t gotten feedback on the leadtime. If anyone who runs a shop/store has any insight, it would be greatly appreciated.

Apologies for a pretty basic question, but it’s my first BMW, let alone turbo vehicle and don’t want to screw anything up.

Read my WTB post on the bms intakes. If you ordered them from somewhere, get your money back because they are not making them anymore. I waited 6+ months.

Well that is a shot to the gut! Out of curiousity, were you waiting on gloss black? Some of the websites make it sound like matte black is in stock, but I haven’t reached out to customer service for confirmation yet.
Happy I didn’t place a back order.

I wanted any version they would make. I even said I would take raw aluminum. Nothing was ever made.

Unbelievable Burger and their distributors are still taking orders for all variations offered. Extreme Power House just told me they don’t have any leadtimes, but call when I’m ready to place an order?

I emailed Burger and called them out, curious if they’ll provide a realistic response to my email.

Did you break the black plastic clips lol? That’s what I’m worried about

Installation is pretty straight forward. Hardest part for me was making sure the lower filter didn’t rub the coolant line. Glad you got it and now it’s installed. The vehicle is so much more engaging to drive with the intake on there. You’ll get so you maximize the “WHOOOSH” with every shift

I installed it and love the sound! It took 30 mins in total without breaking the black clips.

the car seems slower but it could be in my head. A few members said the same on a different thread. All in all, worth it.
