Does anyone else do this?

Passing horses on a road, Hey! Look, horses

Kids/wife all just look close to the window as we pass, then we go back to arguing where to eat

Texas Roadhouse? Meh
Olive Garden? 2x Meh

I rode a horse once when I was a lower case g back in the day.

Would do it again.

Back on topic I do get excited when I see horses being transported for some odd reason.

Growing up in the city never really see animals I guess makes my family feel it's a treat to see them.

we all have the same expression as we pass them no matter where we're going

Grew up on a small farm. Horses, cows, ducks, etc. Experienced with horses, not a fan. My big toenail on my right foot still grows all janky from where our horse stepped on my toe when I was little.

Is it at all due to the amount of glue you sniffed as a child?

Generally speaking, I don't think they transport them to glue factories anymore fyi. Could be wrong though.

I point out all kinds of "unusual" activity out the car window. By the time the wife pulls her head up from whatever it is she does over there in the passenger seat, we are past her peripheral vision limits, and she can't be bothered to turn in the seat and look.

I enjoy anyways, and continue to point out.

Birds
Cows (I moo to them, ESPECIALLY if window is open)
idiots in other vehicles
Police cars
Ferraris
rain falling in the distance
large trees
horses
lemonade stands

So you are basically carrying on a nonstop running narrative from the time you start the engine to the time you arrive at your destination. I understand why your wife doesn't turn her head. I understand perfectly.

I used to think you were a saint. Now I'm wondering if your wife might be one too. I'm happiest when everyone shuts up and I can listen to music and just cruise...so I often enjoy driving just by myself.

Well, where I live there is a big equestrian season in the winter (like right now). There are probably thousands of horses in town and human population doubles.

When we were looking at houses years back, I remember 2 young ladies in bikinis riding horses nearby as we drove by. I definitely looked at them. And bought the house. Never saw them again. Maybe I was just imagining it.

Oh boy. You're losing it.

I don't see any of this crap...I drive quickly almost all the time and I'd pretty much die if I looked around any appreciable amount!

I listen to the Tubi in the M6. Music in the other vehicles. The Tubi sounds like Extremely Good Sex.

I live in thoroughbred country. When I moved here my real estate agent was showing me properties and we drove past one of the many beautiful horse farms. I pointed out the very nice looking barn, and she quickly told me that if I was a million dollar horse I could live in a barn like that, but since I’m not she will show me lesser-priced houses for my sort. I know where I rank around here!

Thoroughbreds, although skittish and high strung (the greyhounds of horses), are absolutely stunning to look at and watch.

Riding on 2 wheels has trained me to see EVERYTHING. Being in a cage, I have enough time/comfort to point it out to others in said cage with me, sainted or not. I'm north of LA enough that I don't have constant gridlock 24/7. There are enough unmolested farms and fields along the 101 corridor around my home that opportunity abounds to see interesting things, even at speeds potentially in excess of posted limits.
