Well what an anticlimax to end this week.
My new 40d is still sitting at the dealers due to an alleged software glitch at BMW which is not letting the dealer tax my car. I have spoken face to face with the general manager and he swears he is not bullsh!tting me. The car has been with dealer since Tuesday and was scheduled for collection on Wednesday. To say I am dissatisfied is a bit of an understatement. I have been assured I will be compensated for the upset. I have never in nearly 30 years of buying cars had a problem like this.

Sorry to hear that, sounds like madness. Surely it's just DVLA work to register it but hey what would I know. Hope it's sorted soon.

That sucks. I know it's way easier said then done but try not to let this ruin the car for you. It's an amazing vehicle and once you are able to finally collect it and get behind that wheel, this will all be a distant memory. Hang in there!

Quick update. Still waiting on BMW dealer taxing my car. No real explanation regarding this issue other than it is a problem with BMW Germany. Spoke to BMW customer services who were bloody useless and very non commitall and claimed to know nothing about this situation.
My theory is it could be something to do with emissions or something like that, just don't believe that it is taking a week to sort out an issue regarding taxing vehicles. Getting seriously pissed off now.

Glacier silver is my favourite colour on the G01. It’s a rare colour to see on any car because white is a lot more popular.

It’s the colour I would have chosen if I didn’t decide to blow metallic paint money on options instead.

Hope you get it sorted soon, you can check if taxed on DVLA website which may update quicker than trying to get info out of BMW

Best of luck! Glad it's been resolved for both you and @Rik762

Ask the dealer to throw in some goodies (e.g. floor liners, cargo mat, etc.) to compensate for the wait!

Mine was late and didn't even have to ask, got mats and black grill thrown in. Bloody brilliant service.
