They will NOT get the latest Dash. It will be the same as the F90 M5.
You are talking about something different. It will not be the X5 or 3 series dash. It WILL receive the Live Cockpit as in the 7series LCI which is the same systems as the new dashboard in the X5 and 3 series

You want to wait until August to get the new systems.

Yeah, well I'm going with my guy who runs that thread and who works at BMW and has been spot on with all of his development info he has leaked in the past two years. Not trying to be snarky, but what are your guys credentials? That way we can get an honest assessment on who is more believable. Because my other guy who is pretty high up in BMW's dealer side has been wrong more than OP in that linked thread is (making him my new guy Hahahaha).

We will know soon enough if the pricing guide says this 6WB Dynamic Digital Instrument Cluster or this 6U3 Live Cockpit Pro (incl. Navi).

Well if the change over isn't until August and production starts in April. We will need to wait for the supplemental ordering guide for August on production, because the first few months will have 6WB. Kind of what they did in 17 for the price changes and other changes in MY18 for the M4.

But yes agreed, we will see. Kind of hoping our boy is right!

If the dash is going to be redone a number of months after initial launch (bizarre if it is true) I can see some angry customers coming out of it that aren't in the know-how (e.g. reading these forums!).

See above. Not whole dash just the systems. But agreed either way.

Remote start ID7

I am waiting for ID 7 not because of the Dash but because ID7 comes with the remote start option and I live in Chicago so that's a big deal for me, I have been waiting for BMW to offer factory remote start for ever. X3 M Comp with ID 7 ticks all the Box's for me.

So when will the production start be? My dealer said it should be June, but then it would really be a bit unusual if they would build models with iDrive 6 for less than 2 months (until the plant holidays sometime in July) and then start with iDrive 7 in August.

I'm considering the X3 M as a possible replacement for my M3, but I would like to have my new car equipped with the new laser lights and the newest iDrive generation, both missing on the X3 M right now. Sure these are not the main features, but it's a bit a bummer.

Read the launch post. Production starts in April. Hits lots in July. IDrive 7 will happen in August production

I had April in my mind and mentioned that while I was talking to my dealer, but he said it should be June (well, as we know the sales men often know less than forum members). I'm glad it will start earlier. Although it probably doesn't change anything regarding the laser lights, since I doubt they are going to add them in August.

As I just ordered an X3 M/C I also wanted to know if I should wait for August production. My sales rep asked back at BMW Switzerland Product Marketing. Answer from them is, that it will not come before the LCI, which is earliest in about two years.

Up to you, but you would be surprised how many BMW Genius, product marketing etc have been wrong in the past. Production changes/updates are highly confidential usually and not trickled down to certain groups/divisions until they are widely announced. A great example is how many people at BMW USA had no clue about iDrive 6 until it was announced by bmw alongside with the new technology for that production year. Best example is a 2018 M3 with ID5 and ID6.

Either way, our inside guy here on the forum is rarely wrong. So we will see.

Sadly no pics of interior. Wish there was a X3 45e with the M40i engine.
Interior instrument cluster pic is on BMWUSA Instagram. Still looks like current systems. But could still maybe change over in August?

When is M5 LCI? If M5 is not getting an updated display/ID7, I can't imagine X3M will get it before LCI or M3 launch.

X3 is made in the same factory as the X5, X7 which have the new electronics. Makes sense those same electronics will be added to X3 production in August and line up with the X6 launch. Just my thought. Explains why other cars made in other factories aren't getting update. But that's speculation.

Again, it's just the systems and not a new redesign of anything physical. So just back end tech.

Well that's digital dash confirmation. Now we just need iDrive 7 confirmation.
That new digital dash is only compatible with live cockpit's id7

So that photo is an eDrive X3. Does that really translate to an X3M which will have an M specific dash? I mean launching with one display then changing to something newer within months sounds absurd. I think the M versions could lag until G80 M3, especially since we have seen nothing of them.

I'm sure that no X3 or X3M will get the live cockpit until the facelift, which will be a few years from now. Apart from the X3 xDrive 30e obviously.
