Where I live in NZ BMW Tyre and Rim insurance does not pay out for cosmetic damage to a wheel. Only if its damaged to the point of no longer offering any seal to the tyre. There may very well be insurance companies that will repair cosmetic wheel damage. Its all about reading the fine print when you take out a policy.

Perhaps knock on wood, but haven't had to deal with this yet, but with wife on X3, i'm wondering if anyone had put on some sort of rim guard (the plasticky ones)?

Many years ago when I was with Allstate, someone cut in front of me from a parking lot sharply and caused me to swerve onto the walkway. I scuffed up the 2 right side wheels . Glad nothing else got damaged.
Allstate gave me a check for $1100 for the 2 wheels and that was it. My rates didn't go out and no questions asked. |

I will have the AlloyGator's exclusive profile installed once the parts arrive. Color is between Silver or Graphite since i'm not looking for bling-bling. Will report back later. |

Rim repair dealer or mobile. I've used the dealer in the past. Great job. About ~$150 rim. Don't go through insurance...just sayin'
