Hi all.
Like the OP, I’ve got the F97 x3m, and it’s time for new brakes. I opted for the isweep pads, which seems to eliminate a couple of my rotor choices (looking at you Zimmermann).
The dealer pricing is insane. The SHWs are out of stock most places I look. And even the Dynamic Frictions linked in the thread aren’t available.
Anyone have any suggestions or links to front and rear rotors that won’t make me puke at the price tag?
(Unrelated but definitely related, I’ve got a pair of brand new left/right Zimmermann z coat rotors that sources say fit the f97 but Zimmermann says aren’t compatible with my isweep pads, if anyone is interested.)

They're there. These are the flat rotor X5 identical to the X3Ms. If you want drilled

EDIT: try pinging rgsport for the SWHs

Exactly. RockAuto is OOS. And so is rgsport on the shw’s. That’s where I started.
Appreciate the reply though!

Did you do the rears as well? I’m only seeing rockauto list the fronts for our vehicles but not the rears? And I agree the DFC (now R1 concepts) are a great set of pads and rotors..

Just to add my two cents here—If you can fit a regular non-drilled rotor, that’s great, but honestly, it might not work as well as you’d hope.

The M rotors use a two-piece design, which is super cool for handling the heat. They're mostly iron, not steel, which I think is for better heat tolerance when you’re really pushing it. But yeah, they rust like crazy if they get wet. Its not due to the drilling.

This two-piece setup is pretty slick because it uses a lightweight aluminum hub to cut down on weight and it’s connected to the iron disks with pins that let the disk move a bit. This means no warping or shaking when you brake hard.

I'm really jealous of your six-pot upgrade, but I think switching to solid disks might not be the best move. You might end up warping them after a few intense drives. I was surprised BMW went with solid disks on the XM, maybe it’s because of the regenerative braking.

I’m in Canada, where it’s cold and WET, often, but it's not too bad since the rotors get hot enough to dry off any snow or moisture while driving. The key is to not leave them wet after a wash—like that saying goes, "drive it hard, but don’t put it away wet." I even put a dehumidifier in my garage to keep the rust off.
