X3M vs X3M Comp Rear Sway Bar Measurements

Hey, trying to get the part numbers for both, after doing some digging around I found 33508746456 for the X3M:

https://parts.bmwinmelbourne.com/p/B...508746456.html

Does anyone have the part number for the Comp specific bar, as well as diameters for both Comp and non-Comp?

Thanks!

If you read around the consensus is that they are the same on both just different software programming.

I did, and the suspension was determined to be the same, yet noone measured the sway bar, which was specifically called out on the press release:

Didn't see a consensus on whether the p/n's were in fact the same and it'd be nice to put that to rest haha.

In the official BMW parts system, the part # is the same so there would be no way to differentiate a thicker diameter bar for a Comp. There is no difference and BMW literature is often (inexcusably) wrong. It lists a power adjustable steering wheel, for example.

I guess what I'm asking now is how thick the X3M's stock rear sway bar is, as I'm looking to retrofit it on my M40i with the X3M specific endlinks too.

Well you got me curious enough so I went out and measured mine with a digital caliper and got approx 25.5mm.

Damn this forum. :

I read some BMW document that said the comp was thicker, maybe another millimeter.
But like the power telescopic steering, and seats that 'blow', can't believe anything we read.

By the way I noticed the M doesn't have the driving lights that exist in the M40i. I miss them.

Exactly. The part numbers are identical on both base & Comp models. Even the busing are the exact same. I went down this rabbit hole too on my 2020 X3 M base & eventually figured out the hard way the magic all lives within the dynamic EDC settings.

For what it's worth, here is the stock M40i bar diameter (22.5mm).

Would the sway bars be compatible, X3M into a X3 M40d LCI?
