Having owned several other Dinan tunes on other vehicles with excellent results it is really disappointing that the company hasn't stepped up to resolve issues with the X3 M40i version.
Yeah, same here. Stage 3 on my (now sold) 235. It was awesome and behaved beautifully for nearly 3 years before selling the car.

This time around though...something's up with this stage 1 tune. I think I might bail and get my deposit back from the dealer. Car is pretty damn quick as-is frankly

I wouldn't wait up for them. All they are is a glorified piggyback - compared to a good flash tune.

As I said, I've had nothing but good results using Dinan products. This particular tune is worth the $ but for whatever reason they APPEAR to be having some difficulty with this version.

Doesn't mean they're $hit. Just means you don't like them - even though appears you've never had one of their kits installed.

You're right, I haven't had one installed, but I have had a JB4 and it wasn't all that great. Can Dinan be a whole lot different?

I know my Stage 2 Mission tune is nothing short of amazing. My M40 is now an absolute torque launching missile.

I am glad you are happy with it. All of the reviews that I read were positive as well. I went with the stage 1 from MP. Also got the option to be able to flash back to stock at will for when I bring it in to service, etc. Couldn't resist with the extra 15% off.

Just debating if I want to wait to finish the break in mileage before flashing.

Nice you got in on the Black Friday sale as well? I bought and flashed stage 2 yesterday.

It's raining here but I could definitely feel the throttle response is 10x better than stock which I'll be honest, never really bothered me (I guess I was used to it) but now I don't think I could ever go back. I could definitely feel the power increase as well but I want to wait for it to dry up before I really test it out.

Put a downpipe on it. You'll really like the throttle response. I had Stage 2 without the DP (for about a week) and it's such an injustice without it.

For an SUV to be able to take Z06s, Mustangs and even C63s off the line is really something.

Yea, couldn't pass up on the savings, especially since I was likely to do it anyway. My car is still in the the queue to be produced, so I'll flash after I get it. It is the wife's DD so can't go to crazy with exhausts/downpipes. This will give a nice little boost but not be insane.

It's now March 2019, and confirmed dinan has no bolt on or tunes for our cars. The last product, the stage 1 tune SW they had got taken off the shelf... Called in, and no ETA, dinan is waiting on project car. That can take a while...

With plenty of Flash tunes becoming available for the B58 those piggyback tunes have virtually zero use case. Dinan might eventually release a Flash tune but your going to pay 2X for half the performance all for a so called warranty...this coming from somebody who currently runs a Dinan piggyback on my 340i. For the same amount of money look at what BM3 is starting to do and MP whom many have.

Yeah, I just found out from them as well. No tune and no ETA even.

Might not be necessary though. Bone stock my m40i runs 4.2s 0-60 and 12.5 1/4m.

We have to see verified data to believe those claims. We have no idea what your slope was.

-0.92% Slope, 200feet elevation, 45F outside temp.

I shared it on dragy under my username.

I can do better too that was not perfect as it was a bit wet out after rain, had my buddy in the car and about 60lbs of computer gear in the trunk (also a large pizza, can't forget the pizza ).. These things are beasts.

With a tune (which I don't need now) these things will be knocking on 11's with proper tires.

I just shared my 0-60 run too on there.

3.31% uphill slope and still got 4.18s 0-60 (3.93s with 1ft roll out).

I'm sorry but there's no way you're going to get into the 11s unless you have some proper intervention.

That's hauling butt at that price point. I run a 3.3 in my $100,000 SUV
