BMW X3 G01 25d enters in safe mode
Hi,
Recently my BMW X3 25d with only 4 months and 4500km started to disconnect several systems when I'm driving after medium trips (30 to 45 minutes). Previously I've made longer trips of about 500km without stoping with no problems. The messages that I'm getting occasionally are (translated to english by me): - Colision avoiding disconnected - Paw/people recognition disconnected - Limited driver assistance - Can continue the trip - parking brake assistance disconnected - Can continue the trip - stability control disconnected - Can continue the trip - motor with reduced power - The motor emissions warning is also turned on The most noticiable changes on the driving is the power steering that discnnects - when I receive this messages I try to do an extra safe driving so I didn't noticed any other substantial change. I've taken some photos from the messages I've got 3 times during the last 4 days (they're in Portuguese). Before my wife drove the car this weekend everything was perfect - but she told me that she made some hard braking because she was not used to automatic cars - but I cannot believe a 4x4 like this suffered some consequences because of this. I called BMW assistance but when they arrive the car was already good again, they suggested that some of the computers on the car could be having excessive static electricity and said to me to take the car to the mechanic for having the values reseted. What do you think can be happening? do you know any other cas like this? Best regards, Pedro Viana |

I had a similar problem because my front license plate was mounted to a tow hook mount. The license plate interfered with the sensors, but not all of the time.
I also had similar warnings when the front radar transceiver was very dirty after a winter storm |

Wash the car is a good way to start troubleshooting! :-D
I will try that before going to the mechanic. Best, PV |

After all washing the car wasn't the problem!
Last week my G01 25d went to the garage for fixing the general electronic failure that I had reported. The mechanics though it could be some bad cabling but in the end the problem seems to be a sensor on a wheel that is not working very well. The car was stopped and I'm waiting for the replacement part to arrive. I hope it get fixed. Best regards, PV. |

I’m again in the dealer
The first fix didn’t worked, now the dealer opened a ticket with BMW and they are diagnosing.
They think the cabling connecting the speed sensor they replaced can be broken and are testing with a temporary cable. They have no clue on what’s wrong. I will continue posting in the thread started by allen3ybq https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/member.php?u=325866 here: https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1572314 |
