How are you using OTS multimap after fuel change?

Multimap switch from the major OTS vendors seem to only allow map switch with engine on, on cars with digital cluster. So, after fuel change, eg. 91 octane to say E85, subsequent start will be on 91 octane tune. If you are using OTS on-the-fly map switching between non-Ethanol and Ethanol tunes then care to share your experience about the subsequent start after changing fuel? Is the car start okay and idle long enough to (quickly) switch map?
