Water in battery and rear fuse area -- Poss Fixed;
A few years ago I fixed the third break light water leak which always leaves a puddle on the parcel shelf. However I have now discovered a considerable amount of water in the batter area and bottom of the rear fuse area pics attached. Anyone have any experience with this?

I pulled the head liner down and poured water into the sunroof drain channels. The yellow drain tube did not leak. The leak was around the red area and some surrounding areas.
I used plummers mate and put my hands in the blue arrow direction to fill in the orange areas from the other side. Water is essentially filling up in the drain tube channel and then flowing to an area where It shouldn't. When pushing putty from the inside it oozed out from the gaps Everything was done by feel. I could feel that water was cascading to an area where It shouldn't and blocked it off. I then poured water again and saw where It continued to leak from and plugged the area. I've essentially created a damn that stops water reaching the red area and allows water to backup into another channel used by the sunroof rails. When using the putty the sunroof has to be closed , this allows access to the area in orange. Last edited by bmwPower99; 03-13-2024 at 05:48 PM.. |
