Wow, that is a good price. New from BMW? With tyres? I have been quoted £2300 for Ferric grey 694's with Pirelli Sottozero RFT's

New from BMW with my fleet discount (min. 2 BMW cars in garage = 30% discount).
Normally, they would be more expensive.

Tires are:
245/50R19 105V XL
Bridgestone Blizzak LM-001 (RunFlat)

What kind of wheels and tires did you get? I could probably live with $1500 for a set of dedicated snow tire wheel combo.

Thanks

2 More Things To Consider...

Running your nice, new 20"s in Winter conditions exposes them salt and sand and, the will cause aesthetic degradation pretty quick. Running a low-cost set of Winter rims and tires will preserve your OEM wheels.

The 20" tire sidewall is pretty shallow and doesn't provide much protection from potholes and curbs which can be difficult to see in Winter driving conditions.

I run 18"s on my M40i in the Winter. Comfy with all-star Winter traction. If I damage one on a pothole it's about $160 to replace it. Handling is plenty good-enough for the Winter.

YMMV...

Looks like I confused it with the Volvo package I also bought that did not require the extra TPMS cost. Still not bad. Just a TireRack 19" package.

Tires - Conti VikingContact7 (very well reviewed) $639
Wheels - MSW type 71 $779

$1418 + TPMS and tax

Shipped today so we will see how they look and fit in a week or so.

Got the tires today from TireRack. I actually got a set for our Volvo as well. The wheels are about what I expected from buying similar things before, good enough for winter duty. I went with a square setup for winter, thinner tires but they should work great. All said $3300 for *two* sets of winter tires/wheels.

After debating on a 19" set or 20" set of winter rims and tires for my M40i, I'm now debating just finding 21" winters to mount onto the 718m wheels, as I'm planning to get new summer rims in the spring. Winters where I live aren't that bad, and I don't drive much in winter either, so not too worried about running 21" winter tires/sidewall concerns, etc. Car also looks fantastic year round.

Quick question for those getting non-OEM wheels - are you using the roundel centre cap from your summer wheels? I have had no luck finding aftermarket caps in the new G size on ebay (plenty of options in the older 68mm size). I don't want to spend a lot on caps for my winter wheels but don't like the blank generic ones either. Thanks

The non-OEM wheels I have are 68mm center caps, which I just ordered 4pcs on amazon for $12.

I see many options for 68mm for previous E and F models. The outer diameter of the centre on my wheels is 57mm, which is what I was assuming they are referring to. The centre bore size is smaller on the new G models so wouldn't the centre cap diameter also be smaller? I got some stick on emblems for now but I don't trust them to last long. Let me know if they fit your wheels.

Yeah the OEM caps are definitely smaller than the caps that came with the wheels, so I ordered the 68mm. The wheels have centering rings installed. https://www.discounttire.com/learn/hub-rings

OK, thanks. That explains it. I guess I'll have to wait until the aftermarket industry catches up.

I think it's rare for aftermarket wheels to have matching center bore. It's not really required... or do you mean the smaller caps?

I think you are right on that point, as I had difficulty finding wheels with the 67mm bore and low offset. I did find some, so the centre cap is the same size as OEM. Maybe it is still a small market.

The Autec Kitanos that I have, discussed above, have the exact right centre bore, and the G01 centre caps fit them perfectly.
