Sales Rep. Not sharing Booking Details!
Hi Everyone,
I recently booked X3 over phone/email and not in person as I am away on a trip. The sales rep sent me email stating current status of my booking is 112 - Scheduled for production! I asked him how I can check these status myself, to this he says he will send these updates every week. Why he is not sharing any build code or other information, this is my first BMW booking, I do not know how it works. Should I be worried and is there anything fishy about it, I read a lot in this forum that customers can check their status on their own but not in my case! Any insight will be greatly appreciated. |

Ask him to share the Vehicle Inquiry Report (VIR) so you can double check all your selected options are included on the build (paint color, interior, options, etc). It will include your production number, which you can plug into the My Garage area of the BMW website to track production. Shouldn't be any issue to share this report with you so you can confirm they're building what you want.

Thanks for all your help, sales rep has finally shared the VIR.
Do you know how much time it takes to deliver the vehicle once it reaches the status of '150 - Production started'? Also noticed a deletion '32X Delete hands-free tailgate operation' can this be added later on? |

As for the hands-free tailgate option, this is the kick-to-open feature, and as others mentioned it is deleted with the hitch option. If you didn't get the hitch it may be possible to add it through the dealer but at extra cost and dependent on parts availability. You'd need to check with your dealer. When there were touchscreen deletes last fall a number of affected owners were able to retrofit once they had the parts. |
