Shows SOC etc bottom right
Yeah with TRONITY you get only SOC pushed when car is stopped. You have to keep in mind. What we mean is actual SOC when driving. On this moment on CarPlay and others, there is no SOC pushed from the car to iOS nor android.

The only thing what is pushed is the low state of charge warning. And that is bugged to because 30% of the time it is suggesting ICE fuel stations haha

Tomorrow morning I am in contact with Apple (again) as iOS 15 did not make it clearer. I’ll wait for the outcome before putting my focus on BMW again.

The Apple contact I’m dealing with is herself also curious (at least she said so) on the development of the joined effort. Will be continued (unfortunately)

Update:

Apple Support called back today with news from their engineers:
System doen not work yet as there are no developers ready with the data from the car to be presented to Apple Maps.

I am afraid we all have to start nagging our BMW Country Teams to ask what is happening here and why it was announced, yet never took off!

I will do so straight away and will post reply as soon as I get it.

Where can I find our country team e-mails for this?

In Holland it is bmwi@bmw.nl, I suggest to try bmwi@bmw.{countrycode} Here should the “specialists” reside. In all fairness, I never had anything useful from them except a special (internal BMW) form to fill in when I specified the intermittent charging issue. But I decide to keep them copied in on all correspondence so they can’t claim they weren’t aware.
None of the mails bounced so far, so it is fair to think the mails arrive.

Spoke with the Genius at my dealer today. The iX will come with a predictive routeplanner which will direct you to the most suitable chargers along the route.
And it will start preconditioning the OBC and battery prior to arrival to make the best use of a HPC. That is positive, although I think the gain in time is limited and in the range of some minutes/session.

To me it sounds like something which could be adapted to the iX3 with a software update.

The link between Apple and BMW is not resolved and I got the impression it will just never be solved either.

More and more I get frustrated by the lack of support for software updates, refinements, API’s and also the clusterfuck that battery predictive heating is only available to the LCI.

BMW gave me the solution to change the pre-LCI for a LCI. That will be for me the best solution. Because in the winter I drive a lot with my car and fast charging it is important for me.

I do feel however that the saga continues with the SOC%. All other EV’s has SOC% pushed via OBD or via API. What is so difficult to get real-time SOC out of the car?

It must have to be an active choice when they designed the API.

I have the paid version too but Tronity does not update SOC in real-time during driving - only at the end of a trip?

Yes it is a limitation of the software that bmw put in this car. Nothing that we can do about it as bmw doesn’t listen to its customers. Also the company is very strictly regulated and borders to a bureaucratic gouvernement organization. So they need to go through a lot of channels if they want to change even a little change in their software. So they do not react, do not even give consequent information. Pure dissatisfaction from my part… with this car.

Hello all, is there any change with the out-rolled OTA SW releases? As I read, there was planned to implement some changes in SW update 07/22
