Apple CarPlay phone call x memory keypad

Does anyone know if it is possible to assign on the memory keypad something related do Apple CarPlay. Trying to "press 1" to call my wife. Apparently this is not possible.

I have #1 programmed to call my wife, works both in carplay and not. I’m ID6 if that makes a difference.

As brettl said Caetano, you can program each of the numbered keys on the centre dash to call a different number (whether using Apple Car Play or not). Even program one that when pressed activates navigation to "Home" from where you may be.

I tried to set a key to call from CarPlay but got a system message saying not possible to do that. I have ID7.

PS: same surname but different musical taste

Do it through the phone section of iDrive rather than through CarPlay. Will call even if you're using CarPlay.

Can also use Siri to call people by holding down the voice button on the steering wheel for a couple seconds. Works pretty well these days.

If you program key 1 on dash with your wife's number, it will ring her every time you press it regardless if your iPhone is connected via Apple Car Play or just the BMW system.

(Me too, I'm more into Paula Toller than Caetano ,)

Thanks guys! I have a now a different problem. Phone will not sync contact thru iDrive. Still trying to figure this out.

PS: I like Paulo Toller too!
