I prefer my car manufacturers to have made a few tens of millions of cars first before I buy one.

Saw one a few days ago on a local road (SF Bay Area) and it looked interesting. Perhaps nice heavy duty scissors are included?

They (Fisker) will probably go bust in a few months.

As Apple have reportedly cancelled their "Apple Car" project recently, I do wonder if they're eyeing up Fisker with a view to acquiring them. Fisker already have a platform and infrastructure in place, and products in the market, so this could be an easier route for Apple, rather than starting from scratch...

Seems more imminent than that, unless the Nissan (or another OEM) deal actually materializes.

As others have said, Fiskars are in financial trouble right now. If I was going electric, I would probably lean to a company that was 100% electric. But hopefully that decision is a long time away.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out in ~15 years from now. If there ever was a time to try and enter the car manufacturing game it’s when there’s a major market disruption like electrification.

I wouldn’t buy a Tesla now because I don’t trust them but I do think they’ve successfully got their foot in the door. The next question is how the other manufacturers cope. Some seem to be doing some wacky things. BMW’s plans to straddle the fence may actually turn out really smart as not everyone is ready to stop the petrol.

The Ocean had unique styling but was a very similar form factor to our X3s. I had briefly looked. If Fisker goes under, the after-action report will show a variety of causes. However, the strategic positioning for such a vehicle will likely suceed in the future from another source, such as our beloved. I find this intriguing. If it comes with an LFP or some form of solid state battery that doesn't suffer thermal runaway, I'd be interested.

My wife's car is a white Tesla Model Y, it's not exciting, but there's a reason why they sell so many of these things. It's an awesome appliance.

I personally prefer something with a bit more soul, thus my daily is an X3 M40i.

Until, I hear differently, I'd stay clear of Fisker, or Lucid, and even Rivian. None of these seem to be in a great financial situation. Just my 2 cents. Nothing against the cars themselves, I saw one of the Fiskers driving down 680 going into Fremont, and thought it looked nice.

I have heard the word "appliance" used many times about Teslas. I don't want my car to be an appliance. I want it to be an extension of me. I want it to have a soul. Until they can inject something into these EVs that makes me feel something when I am driving them, I will stick to traditional cars.

I know the Lucid share price is on the slide but they are backed by the Saudi investment fund, if you want backing it’s not a bad place to be in.
