You can get an X4 in MT, but not in a Macan?

Or maybe you don't need a lot of stupid buttons, falsely inflating your feeling of self worth?

Seriously, what is going on with Porsche. All these buttons look hideous. I am sure most people would reach for their reading glasses just to turn on the seat warmers. A diarrhea of buttons. It's nauseating.

Still, I would personally prefer the Macan. Driving comparos will be interesting. The Macan pretty much obliterates the Evoque in recent reviews, and I expect the same demise for the X4.

I actually like all those buttons and the Macan would be a second car for me so I wouldn't mind PDK at all since my M4 is gonna be MT.

But that's cool that they offer MT in the X4 I did not notice that

and another unexciting BMW, if it is as uninteresting to drive as the X3, I think Porsche will sell a lot of Macan S...
I would not mind that they keep releasing new "niches" if they were still doing "core" vehicles: inspiring to drive small coupes and sedans instead of the bloated techno loaded stuff they recently released

If I were to purchase the car, I'd go with Macan S, but X4 may be better if you are leasing.

But still, with all the packages they are pricing the X4 35i into Macan S range and X4 28i is probably gonna be in Macan's range (rumored to have a 2.0L turbo coming later this year, maybe the Porsche 2.0T will be more powerful than the 28i's)

The macan is pretty much like the X4, remember Porsche isn't Porsche anymore.
It's VAG/Porsche.
So the macan is a rebadget Q5 with some tweaks, and a couple of VAG diesel's.
That's porche for you these days.
So stop whining about BMW and how theyr changed, it's happening all over.
If you don't like the X4, don't buy it.
I'd love to see a comparison from chris harris on the macan vs X4.
Over here, the macan cost 15% more than the X4, and doesn't offer an entry level solution like X-drive 20d.
Personaly i like the LCI X3 better than the X4.
I've been following this thread very closely and I'll have to chime in here. The Macan is certainly not a "rebadged Q5 with some tweaks". Thats like saying the 911 is a rebadged Beetle. Have you taken a look at the some of the reviews so far?? The Macan driving feel and chassis dynamics are at this point outclassing anything in the segment. The Macan is more of a larger Cayman than it is a smaller Cayenne. Don't take my word for it, take a look at what I feel is one of the best most unbiased automotive sites on the internet.

When is the X7 (bigger X5) coming out and when is the X8 (bigger X6) coming out?

X7 makes sense for large families who end up buying a GL or the Infiniti FX or the Lexus LX instead.

X8 makes sense for large families who prefer a sportier coupe style for their SUV or who prefer to punish their kids in the 3rd row.

Also, when is a coupe, gran coupe and estate/wagon version of the 7 series coming out? Mercedes just came out with the S Class coupe. Come on BMW, you're lagging behind on the model offerings.

I'm not sure if you are serious?? An X7 makes sense, a hell of a lot more than all this other crap they've been creating. I see tons of GLs, LXs, Escalades and QX56s, err I mean QX80s, on the road.

M sport and aggressive facias on tall cars look so redonk. It just makes no sense to put a bumper from a sedan and stretch it like this.

The difference is the Macan puts all the hvac controls on the console, instead of the dash. When you sit in the car it actually looks nice to have just the nav screen on the dash.

I sat in a Macan Turbo the other week. The interior is leaps and bounds better than my M3. The new Porsche interiors are very driver centric, I like have all controls in one area (where my arm sits).

I was serious about the X7 if they get it right. But trust them to be lazy and just elongate the X5 and call it a day. The rest, I was being sarcastic. Then again, looking at recent trends, you can't be surprised if BMW will come up with these other models.

saw X6 on the street yesterday and while I am not an SUV guy, I really like it. This X4 is not baby X6, it is just an X3 with a different hat. Not liking it. And especially considering close $$$ with Macan, x4 will not be as successful as a baby X6 could have been.
p.s. I dislike the cheap approach BMW took here - taking X3 and changing its roofline. Nice try, hahaha, but it is not going to work.
