Ok
Do you happen to know if BMW Apps 6NR will work in my car? Would i need a 9C FSC code that i've seen you mention elsewhere?

BMW Apps is not possible in HU_CHAMP2.

I own a 2014 X3 (F25) with no nav and no enhanced bluetooth but has idrive in it. So I am unable to stream music from my phone via bluetooth. After doing some digging i found that Bimmercode or E-sys can be used to code and enable EBT in my car.

1. Lets talk about Bimmercode first. After reading numerous posts, it looks like there is no straight forward way to enable EBT. A looooot of parameters need to be changed and if you miss something, it may not work, or disable other features. If somebody has exact details of the parameters that needs to be changed then please share with me and I may follow that route.

2. E-Sys. It is a powerful tool and by VO/FDL coding, EBT can be enabled. So I have installed E-Sys 3.27.1 and E-Sys Launcher by TokenMaker 2.5.3 build 108. Now the problem is with the launcher. It keeps asking for generation of PIN. After doing some research I found that this launcher works if the system date is set to before 12/31/2017. Also, there is a script written by Tony Twoclicks that sets system date in other places. So set the system time to, say, 10/01/2017 and run that script. Now launcher will launch E-Sys. But I was wondering if that would cause any issue while coding, ex: when I write VO or FDL to the car, will an older system date cause any problem?

I am really new to coding, so any info is helpful. Also, if anybody has coded their F25, please give me the steps that you followed. And when I connect E-Sys to the car, there are many options in the dropdown. Do I have to select the one with F25 in it? I have seen people selecting different one. ex: 1 guy selected F10 for this F30 car.

Sorry to be like a dog with a bone here but i have just found this. I'd accepted what ive been told but after seeing this it makes me wonder if i'm maybe the first to even give a damn!
In the highlighted screenshot, I am assuming the prefix CMB_MEDIA refers to a seperate combox meaning that cars pre NBT may have some kind of basic voice recognition.
Can anyone elaborate what this means?

CMB_MEDIA is Combox Module. SVS_EIN_AUS is an FDL Code to enable Basic Voice Recognition, and it was actually available in the predecessor to the Combox, which was the MULF2 HI SVS module.

Basic Voice Recognition allows only voice control over Telephone Dialing function, and it does not require an FSC Code. By contrast, a car with Option 620 Voice Recognition allows voice control over many car functions such as Telephone, GPS, HVAC, Radio, Multimedia, Trip Computer, iDrive Settings, Owners manual, etc., and it requires an FSC Code.

This though has nothing to do with what you want. The FDL Code / Function you need is CE_DEVICE_SPEECH_RECOGNITION, which allows voice control of CE Devices, this a short Press of Voice Control button gets cars Voice Control, and a long press gets you Siri on iPhone or Google Assistant on a Droid.

Based on your VIN, you definitely have HU_CHAMP2. Car was built in Feb 2014 (2014-02-07) so it is 2013 Model Year. If it was 2014 Model Year, it would have been newer ENTRYNAV Head Unit, which is NBT Lite.

Next question

In the Bimmercode options for my car is a section for the heated seats to permanently remember their last setting, however in the cheat sheets i can only see options for temp levels. It's not gonna get above double figures in centigrade here for a few months. My coding guy says he's no idea how to do this. Are you aware of where he'll find the correct parameters to code this option?

I don't know of a setting to remember the last heated seat setting.

There is coding for both levels and memory. There is separate parameter for Wheel, Front seats, and rear seats.

I wish the steering didn't get so hot so quickly. I would love to know how to change the parameters, so I can just drive with a warm wheel.

There probably are levels for wheel, but I have only coded them for seats.

I have trawled through the various forums regarding NBT retrofits but I can't find anyone with a similar set up to me. I have a Champ2 head unit with a combox in the back with active telematics service. Am I right in saying that there is no way to retain my Connected Services with a NBT HU as they tecnically have never existed in the same vehicle together so there is no way of interfacing them. Is it not possible to load the new NBT unit with my BMW credentials from the CMB, surely it is not just as simple as removing a sim card???

F25 never had Fem.

Fem is for F20 (1/2-series), F3x, F8x.

Installed coil overs and I'm getting these codes because I had to unplug all of the EDC sensors on the factory coils.

Any idea how to convince the car that it is okay? Wont let me in any mode but comfort.

Getting these codes :

Now that BimmerCode allows coding custom variables, is there any advantage of coding with a computer over using the app?

You can't code certain things with Bimmercode:
Gts dct, steering, mdm and others.
