thanks for pointing this out...

So the X4 the trunk actually allows for the spare better than the X3. I am disappointed that the X3, which actually is more useful with regards to storage capacity, appears to end up with a lower liftover height and cargo floor only when ordered without the spare. it's nice and pretty how the spare is covered in both models, however the X3 thread shows that one does lose several inches of load height. I would prefer to avoid runflats,.... while keeping all available height for cargo. i think i would just prefer the lower load floor and will use the rails to hold a spare. I can take the spare in and out....

I'm so surprised Top Gear gave this a 4/10. I thought it would handle so much better

why so much surprise at the price?

this is a loaded comp model, you can get it in the 70s without a problem.

Look at the GLS 63S that is almost $100,000 with similar options!!!
Macan Turbo S $90,000-$110,000 (depends on which options, )
F Pace SVR $88,000
Alfa Stelvio Quad $87,000

BMW looks like a bargain, especially X3M comp

Marketing 101; they'll push MSRP up then offer discounts to make it seem more appealing, no?
It's stepping into the old X5/6M territory.
Yes it is....too close....the economy for real working folk who aspire to drive these vehicles won't allow the prices to be upheld for long; all predictors show a coming recession/market slump ...wait on it....

I absolutely agree with you.

That and the disruption of the electric car revolution.

Soon BMW will start cutting models, just as Mercedes is planning to do.

An X6M starts at over $100k. I don't recall the price on the initial release but it's been that way for awhile(years).

This may not be cheap but it slots nicely in the lineup, quite a bit cheaper than an X6M and just a little more than a similar M4.

I was really thinking of the fist generation X5M

Regardless I wish BMW lots of luck.

I don't really have any reason to defend the price, but I'm just surprised that others are surprised. The starting price of the X4M is only $3-4K from starting price of the M4, and this is a competition model with an exec package. It's a lot more car than an M4 for just a bit more, are people expecting it should have been the same or cheaper?

I will all come down to how many BMW wants to make.

It's all lease rate dependent.

X4M won't get discounted this much...

BMW doesn't have to do deep discounts, but they do have to offer reasonably good leases deals.

Fiat & Alfa are whoring it out, because they absolutely have no choice.

Yeah, I don't understand the price complaint. What cars is everyone comparing this too? And at what price point would most be enticed by?

I was thinking it's overpriced about 5k loaded up. So $79k instead of $84k.

I have never understood the X4/X6 thing. Here in the UK, you hardly see them on the road with sales of X3/X5 surely 20 times more.

4WD "Coupé". What's that all about?
