That pic from BMW of Stratham caught my eye. That's where I ordered my car and it looks just like that one - with red calipers. Mine went into production today!

Wow, this looks so good! Now I'm thinking about changing my two tone 699M wheels lol

It looks so good! Small word lol. I drove up there from Methuen just to see how the black rims looked on a white SUV. They had a pre-owned 19" with the black and after seeing the X3 M I decided to switch to two toned lol. So lucky! Mine is a week 44 production 😣

Can you post pics up close of the rims?

I chose the 787M for my BG as well. Kind of surprised how few have selected it.
Now that I see an actual picture, they look really good. The two tone 699M aren't really black, they're more of a machined and grayish look but like the darker contrast on the ones you guys chose. I might have to revisit that option before my order goes into production lol

Here you go. Let me know if you want any other pictures, as I also struggled to decide what rims to get as I was unable to find many images of the 787M.

Thanks, You're awesome! Yea this is the first time I see these rims in a picture. Glad I'm not the only one who went with blue calipers. A lot of folks go with the red.

Yep, I like the blue calipers on BMW's for differentiation, since I associate red calipers with standard brakes on Porsche.

Same, So many people do the red. My husband's Macan GTS also has the red calipers. I wanted something different since he stole the car I wanted to get initially lol.

Look for images of the X4 M Sport X around 2019. The 787M was the 20" on this model.

Sophisto can look nice in the right lighting. Interestingly we viewed a brand new X3 in showroom lighting, and a late used model outside on a sunny day. Looked like different colours, in the showroom, nice, outside not so nice.

Don't mind mid blue, but not sure how well it works with all the black trim, same goes with CB.

Wish BMW had offered Donington Grey.

In summary, we were left with two options, Storm Trooper in White or Darth Vader in Black.
Alpine White was my initial choice however, we have a Mineral White X1 arriving in December and my daughter has a new ST-Line Fiesta in white so I wanted a different colour.

As metallic paint is a no cost option and there is no financial credit for solid paint (Alpine White) I believe the metallic paints just look more premium on a car of this value. I think the Saphirre Black looks fantastic but is known to look dirty just by looking at it, my cancelled X5 was ordered with SB paint but it looked a different beast and I was prepared for the maintenance task ahead. Carbon Black just does not do anything for me at all. It appears confused with being a black paint but it looks like a dark blue under certain light, whereas SB is a true black.

Brooklyn Grey is a happy medium but every man and his dog appears to be choosing this colour which makes the decision even more difficult.

If Marina Bay Blue was available I think I would take it, although I am not sure about the match with 718 wheels

Decisions, decisions!help:

It's a tough one.

Difficult/impossible to see the LCI in the flesh in the range of colours, so left with looking at pre LCI. CB is a common colour, as it was "exclusive" to M Sport, but doesn't work with shadow trim or black wheels IMO.

I've seen every colour multiple times, in different conditions, and I'm always drawn to SB with shadow trim. Next would be Alpine white, it looks clean and mean with shadow trim and black accent wheels/red calipers.

Personally, I think some of the other colours are very dating or work less with Shadow/black, and it's not just BMW, Porsche has a colour called Crayon, just dreadfull.

Have a black car at present, and to be honest, maintenance isn't much worse than a silver car we have. Even filthy it looks pretty good.

I think the extended shadow line compliments the white really good and it also looks very clean.

Quite simply as there is no dealer stock! what customer cars come in pretty much go out within a couple of days, so I am of the opinion that it will be pot luck if and when I see an LCI on the road and that finalisong my paint colour will likely be concluded without seeing a physical LCI X3.

My least favorite colour, bit of a 'mongrel' colour IMO.

SB is a fine colour but having owned several black cars which have all been cared for meticulously, it is a colour that just highlights too many small defects including, marring, scratches, halos and cobwebs. My OCD tendancies are also drawn to the fact that although I want red calipers, if I choose M Seats which come with blue stitching I will have to have the blue calipers instead

Agreed! That Porsche Crayon colour is pants!

Black paint as with most dark colours looks fine when washed and on a cloudy day, but put a black car in direct sunshine and it will identify the smallest of paint defects, inparticular marring, halos and cobwebs which have been inherited from even the most attentive washing processes. Lighter colours in white, silver and light greys have an ability to absorb sunlight with very little reflection, hence the reasons they hide defects so well.

At this moment in time this is the spec I am 99% sure I will choose -;

I love the Porsche Crayon color. Audi and Toyota have a similar color and it looks great with black trim/accents. That's what made me excited to get BG when BMW announced it.

I saw your car in person on our lot (I work at dealership) when it came in. Definitely love the combo, will probably build mine this way too. Car got many lookers too. We haven't seen too many X3s yet as everything that has come in goes right out.
