None of this makes sense. I gave my order (X4 M40i) to my dealer on 9/7, and it was confirmed for build on 9/10, in status 112, and "production begins" on the tracker. (My dealer bartered for an existing slot from another dealer, and got me in while it could still be modified). My requested production week was 42, and my confirmed production date was week 39. Today I called the genius and he said I am actually scheduled for completion in 2 days (my dealer warned me that the tracker is usually way behind). If that's true, I'm now a week early. I did not order HK - not because of shortage worries, I just have no issue with their standard 10 speaker set up. I did order shadowline and the 699 rims. I truly did not expect delivery before November. I guess I'm just lucky? Hopefully nothing was deleted from my build. I didn't know I could ask the genius that. That will be tomorrow's call.

Well, week 41 was a fun idea while it lasted. Update:
9/3 - Order placed for week 38 build 9/8 - Build date pushed to week 45 9/20 - Build date improved to week 41 9/23 - Build date pushed to week 44 BMW Genius could not provide any additional data in terms of whether or not any items are being left off my build. Really wish I had ordered a month earlier when deliveries were happening in 4-5 weeks with no surprises... |

BTW if you call the Genius line they have a new menu system that is horrible. The damn thing was actually spelling the options to me. |

What stage is your car in on the tracker? I just checked my M40i that's in the "Production Begins" stage and it still shows SiriusXM radio under standard features. These disappearing options are really ruining the anticipation of a new car.

Well, I just confirmed through my CA that Sirius XM has been deleted from my (now week 44) build as well. This is not good and I'm considering canceling my order as well at this point. Can't really imagine not having Sirius XM integrated into a $60k+ car. Gotta think about it a bit...

It's really becoming ridiculous with them canceling things without prior notice. You would think that a company the size of BMW can plan a little better and with all the fancy algorithms and artificial intelligence that is used to predict the logistics, it still shows you that they have no freaking clue what's going on.

I was in "production begins" from 9/10 to yesterday (X4 M40i), and was not due to be completed until next week. Today my status updated to "quality check" and I called the genius. She said nothing appeared to have been deleted off my order. My dealer sent me a new inquiry print out this evening which showed me in "Assembly Finish". Everything I ordered is on there, including shadowline, 699 rims, premium (with all features), parking assistance, remote start, and drive recorder. I did not order HK. And the sheet does not show standard features like Sirius (but the genius had said she would have seen an exception note if something had been deleted).
All that said, if you're in production already with a higher end model, I think you're ok. But this situation sucks for those who are not in production and if stuff is being deleted from their order. |

You know, I keep thinking I would be pissed if they had deleted Sirius from my build, and then I thought - when was the last time I listened to Sirius? Or the radio? I stream from my iphone in my car, almost always YouTube Music premium. I know lots of other people who just listen to podcasts on Spotify, or books on Audible.
If you are a Howard Stern or specialty station fan - I get it. It would be a dealbreaker. But I am guessing BMW is thinking lots of younger folks are not going to miss it, if they are parsing out where to put those elusive chips. ****By the way, I think you can stream Sirius through your iphone or android and play right through the audio system (even without carplay or android auto) wouldn't know the difference. |

Yes, this is certainly an option but it's a lot more cumbersome than just having SiriusXM built into the native iDrive environment. It's just so easy to hop in the car and change stations...going into an app which isn't fully integrated would just be a big change...I think I've probably had SiriusXM in all my cars for the last 15ish years.

After I bailed on my build I checked it and the extended Shadowline package was removed and the premium package changed to premium package 2 which excludes the HUD. The deleted satellite radio was added back in.
