Remote start connected drive purchase now available but

Announced today is the ability to Purchase the Remote Start function if your vehicle didn't already come from factory with it optioned.

——ONLY available for SP18 idrive 7 cars (G01/F97 LCI and G30 LCI) and all other idrive 7 cars. ——

Previously BMW had given the impression it would be available for ALL idrive 7 vehicles including preLCI G01/F97 and G30. Looks like that's not going to be the case. There is no way to add OEM remote start any other way. There is no way to upgrade the idrive to SP18.

Any updates on that? not showing in connected drive store. Only drive recorder and traffic cameras out of useful buys.

There shouldn't be a single difference. I was being asked about drive recorder by the way in his question. Not remote start.

Thanks, I see it now on bmwusa.com connected store. Previously I was looking under iDrive's app store (where it was grayed out). $149 doesn't seem bad at all.

I agree. Especially if all the equipment is built in and all is needed is to press the activation button or if in an accident it would record all the necessary stuff. $150 really is a steal.

FYI, any saved videos need to be removed from the vehicle on a flash drive before each software update if you want to keep them as a software update will wipe the videos.

Uneven road detection app is available for all idrive 7 vehicles now. Not specific to LCI or SP18
