New to me 2020 X3M - Inspection Items

Hello Everyone - Tomorrow (09/24/21) I trade in my 2015 Chevy SS for a certified pre-owned 2020 X3M. The vehicle is 4.5 hrs from me. I have scrutinized the dealer photos online, had a 10 minute FaceTime walk-around, and it comes with a clean one owner CarFax. The vehicle only has 14k miles on it, owned in Georgia.

From what I can tell besides some minor paint chips on the hood, its 100%.

Obviously the members here have more knowledge on these vehicles. Anything you can recommend I check for in person before completing the transaction?

Please and thank you!

Well they do a lot of those milage roll backs here in the US that’s why I order a new bmw over a pre owned one. Is there anyway for the dealer to check if the milage is the actual number?

Once again, how exactly is anyone rolling back a digital odometer in modern cars????? Don't really see that as an issue IMO

Yeah I don’t think that’s a thing anymore. The odometer isn’t the only thing measuring miles in a modern car.

Thanks, but not my top concern for reasons others have mentioned.
I’m more interested in common failure points, expensive maintenance items, items of value the previous owner may have kept, etc.

Check for peeling paint under the bumpers, have the seller start the car and see if there is any exhaust rattle.

It's no longer rolling back, it's actually odometer stopper. Odometer will stop counting even thought the car will drive. You can buy this things for 300$ plus. There is plenty other blocks which are keeping the odometer reading but since the car thinks it's in neutral and not in drive, non of the block will count the mileage.
This is highly used thing. I'm super concern about the mileage.
Only way I think you can check the real mileage if multiply engine working time by average speed.

OP has a point. A lot of my friends use this. They lease the car with low mileage a year reassuring them a lower lease and for a few hundred dollars they instal this device. I would be a little hesitant, but then again you never know. Go with your gut feeling at that moment.
