Yes setting aggressiveness and duration too high/long, can damage the stock cats.

Guys, does anybody have problems switching 1->2 when starts from full stop on D1 and D2? No LC just hit the gas. I don't know how to correctly describe it but it's like kick or punch on switching with power loss and bad timing. Other gears is ok. When on D3 it's smooth and no troubles.
Flashed to stock and test - ok on D1-D2-D3. Didn't noticed that issue before. What can it be? I'm on Stage 1 93. Update: just done a few tests and it seems that it's wheel slipping on 1->2 switch and DSC trying to stops it and then power loss and so on. MDM mode - the same issue. DSC off and all good on D1-D2-D3. The main question - why it's only on D1-D2 and D3 is still smooth? Last edited by fangel111; 07-28-2020 at 04:33 AM.. |

I'll just toss this out there. D1 & D2 (unless my knowledge is aged some) are the selections that the torque converter is allowed to engage. D3 and up are lock-up only.

D1 (naturally) would need this. D2 also has it as you can go to S2 at a stop and when you take off, less chance of torque slippage on road surface with questionable traction (like ice). At a stop, though, you cannot shift into S3 and above as there's no torque converter slippage with D(S)3 and higher. D3 - D8 have the torque converter locked, so to speak. This is more efficient mileage-wise and you generally don't need the advantages associated with the torque converter being allowed to "slip" (which produces more output torque).
