X4M Trailer Tow Hitch
Good day!
We have contacted Stealth Hitches https://stealthhitches.com/ about putting a hitch on a X4M Competition. They have done so on a few X3M's and they cannot confirm if it would be the same fit on the X4M. Does anyone have a system installed and any feedback or pictures? It would be much appreciated! Thank you. |

I have the factory installed hitch on my new X4, so I would be suprised if someone can't find a way to install an aftermarket hitch.
I see you live in Laval, way back when I lived on Ile Bazard. Cheers |

I still don’t understand why BMW don’t offer the factory fitted one in US/Canada versions as we have it as £765 option in uk. Esp when all cars come from same production line.

Ah ok at least there is some sort of reason for it then all be it a rubbish one. I thought it was just the M models of x3/4 that were not fitted with.

It's an option for the X3/4 M40i trims here in the US, so not sure why it isn't available for the actual M versions.

Well, I know you're looking at a hitch, but I've been thinking of adding this with a rack, but it seems the tongue weight is so low on the X3M it almost seems pointless getting a rack. I was hoping to put my motorcycle on a rack and tow it that way, but the 350lbs max tongue weight negates that entirely. With a 420lb bike plus rack, there's no way it would work...

Just wondering if you ended up getting a stealth for your X4MC? |

Seriously, other than the factory programming for a hitch, not sure why anyone would prefer the factory offering (coming from an M40i) over a stealth hitch on this M. I look back at the M40is with the factory hitch and think I'm so glad my back end doesn't look like that anymore. Not to mention the stealth solution has a higher rated towing capacity due to its ability to provide a direct ball to mount connection without a receiver which introduces miniscal play. Well worth the loss of the factory programming for the increased asthetics IMHO.
