Harman/Kardon EQ settings

Hi all,

Just thought I would share an EQ setting that in my opinion really brings the HK system to life. Would be good to hear your opinions and how you have yours set.

I’ve had this set up in my X3 20d MSport since new in 2018. Funnily enough I got the suggestion from this forum (ICE versions).

Bass = +10 clicks up
100 Hz = +4 clicks up
200 Hz = No change (note that it comes up by way of increasing the bass value)
500 Hz = +3 clicks up
1 kHz = +6 clicks up
2 kHz = +5 clicks up
5 kHz = +4 clicks up
10 kHz = +5 clicks up
Treble = +7 clicks up

Did you by any chance ‘borrow’ that from here:

https://totallyev.net/bmw-ix3-audio-...harman-kardon/

Would have been good if you had credited the source as there is a lot of good info in that review.

This is great. I’ve got to be honest I only found the equaliser the other day while waiting for my daughter.

I wondered what settings might bring the system to life- and now I know. Thanks!

Hi all

I’m trying to find some 22 LCI equaliser settings for HK but no luck.

I can’t really find that sweet spot. My previous HK audio in 6 series was much easier to setup and sounded much better on high vol.

Please share pics with your eq setup and tell what kind of music do you listen.

Thanks

The best coding option on my previous G30 530e was to code it to have B&W audio even the car had Harman Kardon. It brought the ”studio” sound profile which made a big difference. No chance of being able to do that in the iX3?

I get the impression that the pre-LCI ix3 HK produces 600w and the LCI is 450w? Please can anyone confirm? Would be good for the 2 cars get together head to head to compare

I have the LCI and even though the HK sounds very good, as Urbi mentioned above, i am slightly underwhelmed at louder volumes.

I am not certain only having the 464w/LCI HK system but I think given how long the 464w system has been in BMW vehicles such as the 3-series/X3 that the pre LCI is also 464w. NB: The M Sport/Premier only has the base stereo which I understand is 225w.

I too was underwhelmed by the system at louder levels and in particular the lack of bass/fuller sound for me personally and I posted the following a while back which might be of interest.

The M Sport Charged (non Plus/Pro) has four midrange speakers and two subs with a total power output around 100W. Unless the 674 Harman Kardon Hifi option was ticked (this was only available on some markets for a limited time).
