Will keep you posted if any date/ship appears on my search, i get the ‘no data found’ notification currently.

If you are worried your dealer has given you a duff VIN, email Uk customer services and they send it on to you.
I have finally seen the portal update, my M40D arrived into port via rail on the 29th. The car is now on the ship “silver glory”, departing 12th Feb. Will keep following it.

Looks like my M40i is on the same ship. After being told it was on a ship a couple of weeks ago, only just showed up on the tracker.

Is it about a month on the ship before it gets to the UK ?

Great to hear. You can track the ship on various tracker sites with a quick google. The ship is currently moored in East London Harbour, SA. (A days shipping down the coast from the pickup point in Durban)

I believe it is 2-4 weeks depending on stop overs.

Genius still seem confident mine will be delivered into dealer (Chesterfield) Week 10, which would be week commencing 7th March.

Don't know about SA, but many of the vessels from the USA call at other ports, such as Bremerhaven, before reaching Southampton.

I'm also not sure if UK-bound cars are offloaded in Bremerhaven first and actually continue to the UK on a different vessel at a later date.

I've been tracking a vessel called Patriot that left Charleston USA 17 Jan, and arrived at Bremerhaven 3/2. It spent over 7 days there, and then went on to Antwerp, and is due to arrive at Southampton today.

I don't think my car traveled from the USA on this vessel, but I'm hoping it is on it for the last leg from Bremerhaven to Southampton.

Genius knows shit.

They have been confident of every delivery date they gave until they weren't. Usually, the date magically changes about a week before the "estimated" wc date. My car was built first week of Dec in USA and so far Genius has been confident about w/c 24/1, 7/2, 14/2......

I second that, they know nothing, spoke to them yesterday and told me it should arrive this week but could not be sure as their system had not updated.

I saw this on one of the tracker sites :

The current position of SILVER GLORY is at South Africa (coordinates 29.94406 S / 31.19415 E) reported 44 hours ago by AIS. The vessel is en route to the port of Southampton, United Kingdom (UK), sailing at a speed of 14.9 knots and expected to arrive there on Mar 5, 10:00.

Interesting. Mine has just updated to say the same. We might get lucky and be on a direct ship from SA to UK which it looks like we are! Docking 5/3 means the week 10 delivery to dealer estimate might be ok. Fingers crossed

These arrival times are accurate. Mine stopped on his way in Spain (yesterday) and it’s on its way further but no idea where as there is no update on next port, hopefully somewhere in uk

Wish mine had only taken that long week 46 build, been told March for delivery maybe. Please keep us informed when you get your car. If you get yours before me I will be on BMW for some compensation.

I'm assuming your car is an SA build ?

Will be interesting to see how long it takes from arriving at UK port to actually be delivered to the dealers.

Week 46 looks like US for me.

I spoke to my Sales Advisor some time ago - he said that they have no idea where car is during transportation and how long exactly it takes - they base on information given by BMW. He was surprised I had so much info where it was (vessel name etc ) - and believe or not he’s got amazing knowledge about BMW, spec and what he is doing comparing to other SA I came across.

I’m just wondering - cars are being transported directly to dealerships or going to main stock and being transported further from there ?

As mentioned mine is going to NI Bavarian BMW so it’s one day on lorry to port in Liverpool and it’s on next day there …. But that’s just theory

Depends on model.

Only M40/M/e was USA, others SA even before the recent change.

Not sure on the process of cars arriving at what ports, and if they ship straight out, or BMW has other things done during these strange times, prior to dealer delivery.

Hey. Good news is the vessel silvery glory is still on track for arrival into Southampton 5th march.

Genius is saying my eta into dealership is now week 13 rather than week 10. Out of interest what is your dealer/genius saying delivery date might be?

I was informed by dealership that my M40D was already built in USA on 3rd Dec and have an expected arrival date of the 24th January.

Yet here we are almost a month later..... I wouldn't trust what dealers are saying at this time. Whatever system they are using is fucked.

I did that. They said 24/1, then sorry, 7/2, then sorry w/c, and then the 18/2 they still said w/c 14/2... oh but wait..... that's passed, so will be end of Feb..... Really ???

It appears they all look at the same system and it's GIGO - Garbage in, Garbage out, or they lie.

This morning I asked BMW Genius about the recall code shown on the BMW UK website, they claim to have no knowledge. I think they are being told to not say anything.

Which Genius are you using as I can’t seem to get on the live chat. Do you have a link?
