Fitted my front lip today. Real easy to do. I ordered BMW style under tray screws as I didn’t like the screws/washers that were supplied. Also used genuine 3M tape. Only five holes drilled into the original bumper. All in the black plastic areas and can’t be seen when the lip is removed. Fit and finish is excellent I can’t see the difference between BMW black plastic and the lip.

£124.34 delivered. Took 7 weeks to arrive.

I replaced the forged carbon mirror caps with standard weave caps today. Got to say with one of each on I do prefer the look of the forged caps.

They were a bit controversial on here when I first installed them

and I’ve had a few comments from people that thought they were just dirty or scratched caps, so I thought I’d change them for a while.

They now match the rest of the carbon on the car.

Yes I would consider selling them but postage costs to the U.S from the U.K is a joke and would be far to expensive to make it worthwhile.

Do you have the part number for the under tray screws you ordered? And were you happier with them?

I only needed 5 in total. 3 for the upright stantion sections in the centre and then 2, 1 each side where the sides screw to the centre section. The screws I ordered ended up being a little shorter and smaller than the original undertray screws but that actually turned out to be perfect.

I just did a search on eBay for BMW under tray screws. There are loads on there.

Swapped out the AliExpress anniversary badges for OEM as they weren’t as expensive as I expected them to be at £45 each. The fit and finish is obviously superior but got to say the Ali ones are hard to tell they aren’t genuine when not next to the real deal.

While at the parts counter I treated myself to a carbon steering wheel trim to match the interior of the car. Quality is beautiful. Will fit soon once I have found a set of G80 paddles at a decent price.

Finally did the wheel trim today. So glad I went with OEM. The fitment was spot on and was easy to swap over. The amount of wires and plugs in that wheel though is unbelievable. That was the hardest part about the swap, getting all the electrics to go back in the right places.

Paddles are G80 copies from AliExpress. Perfect fitment and OEM feel. Carbon is flawless and matches the OEM carbon on the dash.

I think from memory it was type C as that was OEM finish.

Did you have any issues installing the crystal shifter? I saw some reviews on Amazon of it frying the left half of the center console control panel even though he disconnected battery. I'm hesitant lol any tips?

No issues with frying anything. Disconnected the battery and all was fine.

Shifter was very very simple to do. I-drive was pretty tricky getting the ribbon cable to connect back in and then re engage the locking clip. There’s very little room for maneuver and the clip is extremely fragile.

So what I'm hearing is, don't let my husband install this, I'm better off doing it myself lol. He has no patience. 🤣

The LCI has 2 batteries; the normal 12 volts and the 48 volts. Both need to be disconnected.

It’s been a long time coming but I’ve finally got illuminated seat badges

Thanks to a friend that isn’t on this forum who helped and most of all njw1967 (AKA Neil)

who worked out which pins were what from the rear footwell lights, thanks to him, I now have seat badges that illuminate on unlock and then stay on and go out 5-6 minutes after shut down when the car is locked. (KL15power).

I’m absolutely more than happy with the result.

Very simple to do. I made a plug and play mini loom with factory style plugs that plug into the rear footwell lighting under each front seat. So no cutting or splicing of original cables and completely reversible and pretty much undetectable that I’ve added the headrest badges to the system (apart from them actually illuminating and staying on).
