Single stall at startup?

My 2014 28i (50k miles) stalls once right after starting from cold about 25% of the time as soon as I put it in reverse to back out of the garage. Always restarts immediately and never stalls twice. No rough idle, stumbling, hesitation or any other issues. I put in new plugs. No change.

Just wondered if anybody else had this same issue and what caused it. Thanks.

Low pressure fuel pump maybe? Take off the rear seat and just ensure all of the connections are tight. Every time you get in the car listen for the fuel system priming.

I have ad this happen, but only when it is cold. Currently I still get a stumble when cold, but no longer stalls. I have traced my issue to the injectors which had been sitting in the replacement engine for a while before I installed it.

It sounds like your issue may be fuel related as well. Would be worth hooking up a scan tool to view live data while it is happening. Check fuel pressure from the ODBII and O2 readings.

Do you shift as soon as the engine starts? If I don't let the engine do its proper cold start sequence (or at least wait 5 seconds) it would stall. That was since alleviated since I had the ignition coils and spark plugs refreshed. Still prefer to let the revs stabilize a bit though.
