To de-badge or to not de-badge that is the question

As the title says I’m unsure wether to de-badge my car when I get it.

I’ve de-badge all my previous cars as I like the clean look.

Just wondered if any of you guys had done it?

Cheers Steven

I would probably debadge the regular M but leave the X3M COMPbadge because you know fan boy here

Previously debadged the X3 from the m40i

Currently fully debadged the x4 30i

Deleted all my rear badges. They'll figure it out on their own while I'm passing them.....

I either black out my badges or delete them. The back of my car is deleted right now but I have the side emblem on.

F85 here but I deleted all four "badges" (rear deck, side vents, and front grille). I do have a CF license plate frame that says M on it though.

I would like also to remove from the grill and the side, but now there is no option available

Kinda funny when you think about it...... So many people with M sport BMWs trying to Amp up their badges while so many full M owners trying to debadge. What an odd paradigm.

I am pretty sure people out there think, "look at this gray SUV with a fake M badge". As even some enthusiasts I spoke to didn't even know BMW made a true/real M SUV.... even though the X5/5M have been out for years.

I am keeping mine. I need to entice some TrackHawks and AMG's to race me

And/or the front grill? Is it a separate piece that just clips on to the grill?

Since debadging reduces the car's weight and provides marginally better acceleration (real world tests are yet to be written up), I can certainly appreciate these benefits. To be fair, I haven't decided to take advantage of debadging.

IIt's like a choice of clothes, some like simple, someone likes to show off. Someone is stupid and buying fake premium brands, same like put M logo to 316d car

Humor aside, debadging is a personal choice. Clean appearance has its merits. Putting M before and after 316d ... this discussion has many lengthy threads.

Personally I think BMW is going over board on marketing the M badge.

Apparently they love huge front grills also. Thank goodness the new X.3 is not huge

Funny a decade ago we made fun of Japanese cars that had several badges and decals on every corner and BMWs were classy with only the roundels and a number on the back that actually correlated to the engine size

I'm planning to de-badge my cars shortly. I like the clean look and once chipped it will be fun to watch people try to figure what just blew by them...
