My 2021 X3M Competition was completed on 16 May. I ordered it the end of Jan. It's been sitting in Spartanburg for two weeks now. I don't think it will ever be shipped. You think BMW would ship it if it's already sold. What a disaster. I get the whole COVID-19 thing, but it's literally complete just sitting there - what the heck? I apologize, I just had to vent.

Understandable. I'd be frustrated too. Have you spoken with your dealer to see if they can help expedite? Or if they have any news when it'll get on a train/carrier?

I've called BMW and the dealer. All they can tell me is it's completed at Spartanburg and awaiting a carrier assignment. Last update was 19 May - it's just sitting there.

That's normal. They're waiting for the carrier to fill up as well. Yours might have been the first vehicle ready for the particular carrier headed to your area.

Hope so. I've been pretty patient. I realize a lot that has gone on has been out of BMW's control.

Worth the wait, especially if you had a specific build you wanted. It will get there! I'm 2500 miles in and I swear it's getting better. Suspension has absolutely softened up, steering less finicky, and I've gotten used to the power delivery. So good!

If it makes you feel any better, I ordered mine in February or March 2019 (BMW confirmed that I was the first person to order one, THE day the pricing was released). I was stationed in Germany at the time. Expected pick up was late July or early August 2019. Even though it was a US spec car, the European release date was September. My car arrived in country and sat at a Germany BMW showroom since late July until I picked it up mid September.

Ordered mine early March. Initial EDD of 4/23. Completed on 5/29 and sent to VPC. Was told it was released to carrier with an estimated delivery of 6/2. Never showed up and my dealer has no idea why. My garage still lists it as “awaiting carrier”.

Maybe they are holding the 21s for a little?

It has to be something with the ‘21s. My dealer told me that he could have a ‘20 delivered to me tomorrow but no timeline on the one I actually ordered.

I think they are waiting for the 2020's to clear off the lots, which I understand. But, if a car is built, and sold already, send it to the customer. The unsold ones can remain in Spartanburg until the 2020's clear out.

Any updates B-52? Mine keeps getting a carrier date assigned just to have it removed or postponed at the last minute. Beginning to think it’s never coming.
